Position Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for the Product Assembly and Packaging Divisions provides strategic and operational HR support across multiple manufacturing locations, with the primary office based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is a multi-site role that partners closely with business leaders and employees to support the Fort Wayne, Columbus (OH), and Elk Grove Village (IL) facilities.
The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, leading initiatives related to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, HR compliance, and workforce engagement. This is a hands-on generalist role that works as a key member of the Meridian Human Resources team on enterprise initiatives while supporting the operational objectives of the businesses.
This position reports directly to Corporate Human Resources and requires periodic travel to our Columbus, OH and Elk Grove Village, IL locations.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership:
- Partner with business and operations leadership to align HR strategies with operational and business objectives, with a focus on employee engagement and organizational development
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and talent development.
- Support workforce planning and employee engagement actions in each location.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development:
- Partner with corporate recruiter to quickly and effectively fill professional, technical, and production roles through the development and implementation of effective recruiting strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Work with supervisors and managers on robust onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Partner with leaders to identify training and development opportunities to support employee growth and retention.
Employee Relations & Culture:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes engagement, accountability, and high performance.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and business communication strategies.
HR Operations & Compliance:
- Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with corporate guidelines.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity including employee records, compensation data, and organizational changes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Support health, safety, and regulatory initiatives within manufacturing environments. Compensation,

- Support performance management processes including goal deployment, performance reviews and performance improvement plans, as required.
- Assist with compensation analysis and salary planning initiatives.
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics and workforce analytics to support leadership decision-making.
Multi-Site HR Support:
- Provide HR support for the Fort Wayne, Columbus, and Elk Grove Village locations.
- Facilitate consistent communication and implementation of corporate HR initiatives across all facilities.
- Travel periodically to division sites to maintain strong business relationships and operational support.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain employee records and ensure data privacy and compliance.
- Participate in divisional leadership meetings and corporate HR initiatives.
- Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned. Skills & Competencies
- Strong HR business partnership and leadership capabilities.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret HR data and metrics.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3–7+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
- Strong HR generalist background including employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and compliance.
- Experience supporting plant operations and production workforces preferred.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- The employee frequently uses hands or fingers to handle objects or operate office equipment.
- The employee may occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Pay: This position has a salary range of $75,000.00 - $95,000.00. The salary range represents the expected range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
Bonus Pay: Meridian offers a performance-based incentive plan tied to company success. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn a percentage of their salary, with bonus payments distributed yearly.
