The role, at a glance:
As part of the Human Resources team, the HR and Payroll Assistant will be responsible for assisting and leading in a variety of administrative and operational tasks that support the team members and the overall experience of the employees at Biamp. A successful HR Assistant will be comfortable independently owning projects with a keen eye to detail, while also bringing creativity and curiosity to continuously improve efficiencies and structures that scale to support our growing Biamp team.

How you’ll contribute:

  • Lead the processing of United States Payroll, including payroll taxes, and serve as a resource for employees with payroll-related questions and troubleshooting. Provide backup assistance for rest-of-world payrolls

  • Provide support in the administration of company benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k). Manage benefit arrears process

  • Support the Family Medical Leave process (and state equivalents) and manage Workers Compensation paperwork as needed, handling sensitive information with a high level of compassion and compliance

  • Manage the offboarding and termination process, including processing, communications, and cross-functional coordination

  • Conduct and respond to regular HR and finance audits to ensure data integrity, compliance, and accuracy across systems and records

  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to document and improve HR processes and workflows

  • Triage employee concerns and provide light employee relations support while partnering with HR Business Partners as needed

  • Maintain employee records and process employee changes with a focus on accuracy and data integrity

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and distributing employee communications, ensuring messaging is clear, accurate, and aligned with company policies and tone

  • Support employee engagement initiatives including anniversary recognition, holiday events, and other company celebrations

  • Assist in other areas of HR as needed

A successful candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and around 1 year of translatable experience, or at least two years of experience working directly in the Human Resources field. Equivalent combination of education and experience is also sufficient

  • Experience in payroll processing and reporting (international payroll a plus!)

  • Ability to work with a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and accuracy

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • A curious and creative mindset with a drive to identify and implement process improvements

  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple projects while also collaborating effectively as part of a team

Some nice-to-haves:

  • Desire to work in an environment that is primarily team-focused but also allows for significant autonomy and independent project ownership

  • Familiarity with HRIS databases is a plus

  • Experience writing and maintaining SOPs and leading process improvement initiatives

Skills Required
