Oil and Gas sector in Accra is seeking an HSSE Advisor to play crucial role in
promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship within
the organization. This position involves developing, implementing, and
maintaining HSSE policies, programs, and initiatives to ensure the wellbeing of
employees, protection of assets, and environmental sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop,
implement, and maintain HSSE policies, procedures, and risk management
strategies to mitigate hazards and ensure compliance with regulations and best
practices.
- Conduct
risk assessments, audits, inspections, and investigations of accidents,
incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective and
preventive actions.
- Monitor
and analyze HSSE performance metrics, data, and trends to track progress,
identify improvement areas, and drive continuous performance enhancement.
- Provide
HSSE training, education, and awareness programs to employees, contractors, and
stakeholders to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Address
security threats, develop emergency response plans, and conduct drills to
ensure a safe and secure workplace and effective crisis management.
- Liaise
with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and stakeholders on HSSE matters,
compliance issues, permits, and licenses.
- Participate
in HSSE committees, meetings, and initiatives, sharing best practices and
leading improvement projects to advance organizational health, safety,
security, and environmental performance.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION AND
SKILLS
- A degree
in HSSE or a related field, along with professional certifications (e.g.,
NEBOSH, IOSH), and a minimum of five years of HSSE management experience are
required.
- Minimum
of 5 years of experience in HSSE management, with a focus on developing and
implementing HSSE programs, conducting audits, and leading incident
investigations.
- Project
management skills are needed to coordinate initiatives, track progress, and
ensure timely corrective actions, alongside proven experience in audits,
compliance, and incident investigations.
- Excellent
communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders,
foster collaboration, and drive HSSE culture improvements. Analytical and
problem-solving abilities are essential for assessing risks, analyzing data,
and developing effective HSSE strategies and solutions.
- Strong
knowledge of HSSE principles, regulations, and standards across industries such
as oil and gas, manufacturing, or construction.
