Are you an HSE professional who prefers being in the field rather than behind a desk?
At Service Stream, we're looking for an experienced HSE Business Partner to partner with operational leaders, influence safe work practices, and help strengthen safety capability across our telecommunications projects throughout the ACT.
This is a highly visible role where you'll work alongside frontline teams, coach leaders, conduct site assurance activities, and drive meaningful safety outcomes. About the Role

Reporting to the HSE State Lead, you'll be responsible for supporting operational teams through visible field leadership, coaching, assurance activities, and practical safety guidance. You'll play a key role in developing leadership capability and embedding a proactive safety culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with frontline leaders and service partners to strengthen safety capability and accountability
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to operational teams on critical risk controls and safe work practices
  • Conduct site inspections, observations, audits, and assurance activities
  • Lead incident investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate safety meetings, learning teams, and operational engagement activities
  • Support injury management and return-to-work processes
  • Maintain HSE reporting requirements across internal and client systems
  • Drive positive safety outcomes through visible leadership and meaningful field engagement
  • Champion a Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) and learning culture approach to safety

What We're Looking For

You are a practical, solutions focused safety professional with exceptional communication skills, who builds credibility through strong relationships and operational understanding, and can effectively engage and influence everyone from frontline workers and Service Partners through to senior leaders and clients.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and management systems
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and writing investigation reports
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and coach frontline leaders
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and digital HSE reporting platforms

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in WHS (minimum)
  • ICAM Investigation qualification highly regarded
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Additional qualifications in WHS, Environment, Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline will be highly regarded
