Talent Acquisition Strategist

As a Talent Acquisition Strategist, you will provide world class management of the full life-cycle hourly hiring process for our US manufacturing operations. The full life-cycle hiring process includes, but is not limited to, posting of positions, identifying and attracting qualified and diverse candidates, interviewing and selection, pre-employment processes, third party agency management and ensuring compliance with legal requirements and staffing guidelines. This position will also own the development and implementation of community relationships and partnerships designed to ensure a steady pipeline of talent for our hiring needs.

Your responsibilities

  • Delivers talent processes to implement talent strategies within ELIP. Works with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and line managers to gain insight into the short/mid/long term business needs and current talent challenges.
  • Deliver future strategies and initiatives to business and HR leaders to drive business partnerships and boost ABB's Employer Branding Activities.
  • Liaises with Third Party Management on approaches for hard-to-fill positions, ensuring that recruitment firms have been provided with appropriate position briefs and that they are fulfilling both position and contractual requirements.
  • Strategizes on continuous improvement to practices, processes, and policies to advance the Talent function. Contributes to the design and development of new talent solutions.
  • Works with site human resource business partners, plant management and hiring managers to ensure the recruitment needs are met in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Establishes strong partnerships with local high schools, trade schools, community colleges, military organizations, etc. to create a strong pipeline of hourly talent.
  • Utilize various media, including online employment websites, trade publications, and university job boards to source job openings.
  • Coordinate activities and serves as company representative at careers fairs and information sessions both onsite and offsite.
  • Arranges interviews by coordinating schedules.
  • Participates in evaluating applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications.
  • Understand and promotes organization to potential candidates, emphasizing company's value pairs, benefits, and culture.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding and supporting current legislation and coaching managers on interview do's and don'ts.
  • Coordinates pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  • Design and prepares offer packets and new hire orientation manuals/materials.
  • Maintains recruiting database, AA applicant flow, and assists with EEOC reporting requirements.
  • Prepares weekly recruiting reports and other ad hoc reports as necessary.
  • Assists HRBPs with various recruiting initiatives and projects as requested.

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or human resource related fields or equivalent training and experience which provide general and working knowledge of human resources regulations, practices and procedures.
  • A minimum of 5 years of human resource experience in a high performing organization or a Recruitment Process Outsourcing company.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recruiting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service, effective verbal, listening and written communication skills and a proven success track record in building and maintaining relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and good judgment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to adapt to fast paced, changing and varying work requirements.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
