ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 The Lead, Global People Operations will join the global People Operations & Infrastructure team within the People function to support the Global People Ops Center of Excellence as well as the Internal Mobility program.  The team provides consistent service and support across people process, operations, and program management. Our global team is both a strategic partner and hands-on team focused on gathering business requirements, optimizing, and implementing people processes. This role will also have the opportunity to help create programs, policies, and processes that are vital to delivering a holistic mobility experience, and position Internal Mobility as a strategic lever in achieving our talent goals. 

The role will support the team on all aspects of internal mobility including but are not limited to: designing, simplifying, and implementing WeWork’s global internal mobility program by assessing the current offline and system process flows, existing templates and letters, as well as being an ambassador for internal mobility as a pillar in our development element of our talent retention strategy. 

This role will also focus on Global People Operations COE responsibilities including but not limited to organizational structure & data management, reporting, document management, and implementation of global initiatives. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

 

Global People Operations 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose process challenges and design effective solutions

  • Serve as the Workday Business Process SME. Standardize and streamline associated Workday HCM

  • Provide day to day People Operations support including troubleshooting issues and serving as the escalation point for process and systems issues.

  • Perform operational duties required to keep the process running consistently

  • Understand the end to end business process for employee lifecycle processes and partner to design Workday to enable business needs.

  • Design and implement end-to-end processes for people operations globally

  • Investigate ways to improve existing processes and fix pain points through automation, streamlining, and shared services

  • Scale existing processes for growth and innovation based on business needs

  • Serve as the Workday organizational management SME. Maintain organization and position changes in Workday, consult with People Partners to understand business needs, and develop tools to create efficiency.

  • With guidance from senior People Operations resources, lead short- and mid-term projects that require the application of independent judgement. Apply skills in business process analysis, requirements definition, testing, documentation, training, user adoption and change management.

  • Support development, maintenance and delivery of curriculum to support internal training and change management

  • Ensure data quality and integrity by performing regular maintenance and system audits

  • Support development of standard reporting and ad hoc report requests

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and remedy system issues

  • Participate in system updates and enhancement projects

Internal Mobility 

  • Support internal program design and strategy execution for the Internal Mobility team, processes, and execution

  • Understand the organization’s existing and future talent strategy, alongside Talent Management and Talent Acquisition, and global policies

  • Design mobility framework to support rotational programs across Community, Sales, and Corporate roles including secondment strategy or short-term skills development with Talent and Learning COEs

  • Develop project plans for requirements gathering, implementation, and change management/training, along with talent acquisition, global mobility, payroll, and other functions. 

  • Identify pain points and solve for them across the cross-functional teams by analyzing existing offline/systems workflows (e.g. Workday/Salesforce) and internal mobility letters and templates.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Global Mobility, Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Employment Legal, IT, and Business to create a seamless employee experience delivery.

  • Manage data alignment for compensation and equity related to worker status and tagging while mobile at WeWork

  • Manage periodic updates to process documentation such as point of contacts, process flows and maps, and system access.

  • Maintain and update contents in the company’s intranet.

  • Partner with People Programs team around employee narrative, employee value proposition and campaigns to spotlight roles in internal communications channels with Talent Acquisition (Employer Brand).

  • Continually assess programs against business needs, feedback and market trends, partner with internal and external partners to develop internal mobility strategies to surface internal talent and provide career mobility across the organization.

  • Partner with the Talent Management team on content for talent development campaigns (e.g. internal mobility as a tool for career path/mobility). 

  • Tell the Mobility story: Leverage data analytics (attrition rate, number of internal applicants, etc) to identify trends and serve as the voice of mobility. Create summary slides and present weekly/monthly metrics along with key mobility actions to executive leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources or related field is required

  • 1-3 years of Workday HCM experience required

  • Strong Excel skills that show proficiency in pivot tables, v-lookups and charts.

  • 3 years of general HR operations experience

  • Proven ability to diagnose problems with strategic thinking skills, as well as drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative

  • Proactive and able to organize and prioritize with limited guidance; work independently or within teams, and meet deadlines

  • Genuine excitement and passion for leading root cause analysis, troubleshooting technical process failures, and implementing fixes to operationalize a process

  • Knowledge of recruiting best practices, recruiting workflows, and experience operating in an Applicant Tracking System, preferably Workday or Greenhouse

  • Proven ability to diagnose problems with strategic thinking skills, as well as drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and communications for management-level audiences
