Hermeus is a startup developing hypersonic aircraft to radically accelerate air travel. At Mach 5, more than twice the speed of the supersonic Concorde, passengers will be able to cross the Atlantic in 90 minutes. On the path to hypersonic passenger aircraft, Hermeus is partnering with government agencies including the US Air Force and NASA to develop a series of autonomous aircraft that derisk the technology and solve urgent national security challenges. These products provide the data and confidence necessary to certify, produce, operate, and maintain safe and comfortable commercial aircraft. Hypersonic aircraft have the potential to create trillions of dollars of new global economic growth per year, unlocking significant resources that can be utilized to solve the world’s greatest problems.

Our rapidly growing team requires high-frequency iteration on the HR processes and tools that enable operations. This position will be very hands-on in employee relations and will report to the Director of People and is located in Atlanta, GA.
About the Role:
- Fully own HR initiatives that help employees thrive like performance management, onboarding, succession planning, equity and inclusion, and Hermeus values and culture
- Lead, facilitate, and continuously improve the performance review process
- Effectively manage and deploy best practices for employee relations, compliance, and policy
- Provide support and guidance to management and team members regarding complex, specialized, and sensitive human resources questions and issues
- Conduct internal investigations and manage the process
- Support the Director of People on initiatives focused on employee experience, wellness, training needs, and recognition programs
- Design and implement onboarding and offboarding processes that align with and promotes Hermeus values and culture
- Design and implement a process to maintain HR records
- Support managers in creating development plans and growth opportunities for their teams
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration and the employee perks program
- Leverage technology to automate systems and processes, reduce costs, and create efficiencies across the HR function
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across multiple states
About You:
- 5+ years in Human Resources
- Experience scaling a company from ~100 employees to ~1,000 employees
- Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management, Business Management, or similar
- Experience managing policies across multiple states
- Experience supporting a high-growth organization
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

- Experience in aerospace or other hardware-focused startups
