Hands-on experience with physical hardware, CAD, test equipment, manufacturing processes, and GD&T is required. Travel to test sites and partner locations may reach 25%.

Lead the end-to-end expansion of a high-enthalpy airbreathing propulsion test facility, from requirements and system architecture through construction, integration, commissioning, and operational readiness. Translate propulsion test objectives into mechanical, fluid, airflow, fuel, exhaust, instrumentation, controls, data acquisition, and safety capabilities. Direct multidisciplinary engineers, contractors, suppliers, and government stakeholders while managing technical decisions, risks, schedule, cost, commissioning, and future scalability.

Provide high-level administrative support to 2-3 senior executives: manage calendars, travel and itineraries, guest relations, meeting coordination, expense reports, and process improvements while collaborating cross-functionally and supporting occasional travel to LA, ATL, or DC.

As a Test Engineer, you will design, develop, and operate test assets for hypersonic vehicles, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and improve testing processes.

Supports Hermeus’s business development and government partnership efforts by managing BD tools and pipelines, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, preparing briefing materials, maintaining customer collateral, analyzing defense budgets and policy activity, supporting conferences, and managing subcontractor relationships. The role helps identify growth opportunities and maintain momentum with government and national security clients.

Designs, models, tests, integrates, and troubleshoots RF hardware and antenna systems for aircraft and ground stations. Responsibilities include defining architectures and requirements, developing RF and environmental test procedures, designing microwave circuits, validating system performance, analyzing data, supporting manufacturing integration, and presenting results. The role requires experience with L/S/C/Ku/Ka-band systems, RF test equipment, antenna simulation, airborne vehicles, regulatory filings, and test campaign travel.

Architects, develops, integrates, tests, and validates mission management software for aircraft and ground systems. Builds high-performance C++ command-and-control, telemetry, mission workflow, and subsystem coordination capabilities. Integrates autonomy, sensors, payloads, radios, networks, and third-party systems while addressing performance, reliability, fault tolerance, and distributed-system challenges. Leads architecture, design reviews, integration activities, simulation environments, and technical troubleshooting during ground and flight tests. Mentors engineers and establishes software development practices.

Develop and maintain real-time aircraft simulation environments for flight-control and avionics verification. Build SIL and HIL test systems, create MATLAB/Simulink models and generated code, integrate aircraft dynamics and hardware interfaces, improve simulation fidelity and performance, automate testing, and collaborate with GNC, avionics, embedded software, and systems teams to validate flight-critical systems.

Define RF system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and verification plans. Design, build, integrate, and test RF hardware for aircraft and ground systems, including antennas, radios, telemetry, navigation, and instrumentation. Conduct RF, environmental, and system-level testing; troubleshoot performance issues; analyze test and flight data; and support ground and flight test activities. Collaborate across avionics, GNC, software, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams while supporting regulatory and spectrum coordination.

Develop embedded C/C++ flight software and networking for aircraft-to-ground command and control, telemetry, RF communications, and vehicle data links. Design architectures and interfaces, integrate software with radios and avionics, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and execute laboratory, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, system-level, flight, and range testing. Collaborate across engineering teams while supporting safety-critical software, technical roadmaps, and communications system integration. Travel up to approximately 25% is required.

Lead FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, scenario planning, and financial modeling. Partner with executives, technical teams, and functional leaders on board reporting, investor materials, program costs, capital expenditures, resource planning, and strategic decisions. Improve FP&A systems, reporting automation, multi-year planning, and profitability tracking in a hardware-focused defense aviation environment.

Supports supersonic aircraft development through structural static and dynamic analysis, external load definition, finite element modeling, aeroelastic and flutter evaluation, vibration environment definition, and validation using testing and flight data. Collaborates with aerodynamics and structures teams on aircraft programs. This is a 12-week summer internship for enrolled STEM students with strong engineering fundamentals, communication skills, and a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Support development of 6-DOF flight simulations and hardware-in-the-loop testing for flight software. Responsibilities include modeling vehicle dynamics, sensors, actuators, and engines; writing C++, Python, and MATLAB tooling; integrating avionics and flight hardware; troubleshooting with schematics and bench equipment; and automating logging, playback, and test workflows. The intern will independently own simulation and integration tasks within a multidisciplinary aerospace team.

Supports propulsion engine and system-level testing by helping design, set up, and operate test stands; instrumenting test setups; monitoring conditions; analyzing performance data; troubleshooting issues; and improving test processes and safety procedures. Collaborates with engineers and technicians on hypersonic aircraft development.

Leads build reliability and quality engineering across aircraft design, manufacturing, testing, and flight operations. Responsibilities include quality planning, inspection methods, failure investigation, root cause corrective action, QMS requirements, containment, nonconformance and MRB resolution, lean process improvement, and inspector support. The role requires hands-on production-floor work, collaboration with design and manufacturing teams, and up to 25% travel.

Supports the development and improvement of aircraft manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, welding, tooling, structural assembly, defect investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, process documentation, and continuous improvement. Works hands-on alongside engineers and technicians on the factory floor to improve quality, repeatability, efficiency, and standardized manufacturing practices.

Own and evolve internally developed business applications by documenting architectures, maintaining and enhancing production systems, reviewing AI-generated code, addressing technical debt, developing APIs and integrations, and establishing secure development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and support practices. Troubleshoot issues across application, infrastructure, integration, and data layers while partnering with IT, security, infrastructure, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

Installs, configures, monitors, troubleshoots, secures, and maintains local and wide area networks. Manages network hardware, wireless systems, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, access controls, and intrusion detection.
