Included Health is looking for a Director of Total Rewards to serve as the leader responsible for the strategy, design, and development of our total rewards programs. This includes developing and driving the strategy for compensation, equity-based programs, variable pay, bonuses, and developing creative benefits programs that support our diverse team. This role will report to the VP of HR Operations and Analytics.


The successful candidate will have experience building and scaling core and innovative Compensation and Benefits offerings that differentiate Included Health in the competitive talent market and drive business results. 

Responsibilities:

  • Compensation
  • Drive innovative compensation and benefits offering that align with the business needs/strategy and attract and retain great talent
  • Develop, implement and train on RSU’s and an ESPP program
  • Lead all compensation processes including base and variable pay, sales compensation design, merit, promotions, quarterly bonuses, equity, etc.
  • Understand current and emerging market trends to identify potential opportunities and gaps to differentiate Included Health in the industry
  • Develop a comprehensive, effective communications strategy to share compensation information with all of Included Health
  • Provide counsel, develop solutions (e.g., manager training for compensation conversations), and educational pieces and programs around compensation
  • Provide subject matter expertise and accurately interpret, counsel, communicate, and educate HR Business Partners, managers and executives on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Make recommendations and provide leadership for internal and external offers to attract and retain highly sought-after talent, including executives.
  • Work with the Legal and Finance team as well as the Executive Compensation Consultant to design, update, communicate and disclose executive compensation plans
  • Partner with Recruitment, Finance, IT and Leadership to understand needs related to total rewards
  • Successfully build, hire and develop a great team of compensation and benefits professionals
  • Select, implement and maintain the right systems and tools so that Included Health can continue to scale successfully
  • Benefits
  • Design, develop, recommend, implement and manage new or revised benefits programs based on changing business needs and labor regulations (this includes health, retirement, leave, financial and other lifestyle benefits programs)
  • Manage third party vendor relationships ensuring service expectations are met
  • Work with internal stakeholders to implement and manage the breadth of Included Health service offerings for our employees
  • Accountable for meeting all compliance and reporting requirements, working with outside consultants and vendors as needed
  • Support coverage negotiations, services and costs with carriers and brokers
  • Organize and analyze sensitive HR data ensuring to support benefits programs and policies are being administered correctly
  • Assist in the development of an enhanced HR services model that supports the administration of benefits program, policy, enrollment and other requirementsManage benefits team, providing developmental opportunities for growth
  • Act as a thought leader on Talent and Organization team providing insights, opinions and shaping our programs and policies
  • Partner with Talent and Organization team on other HR related projects and initiatives as needed

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree and 10+ years demonstrated experience in total rewards, compensation and benefits
  • Experience moving a company from private to public, including developing an RSU and ESPP program
  • Demonstrated compensation experience in the following areas: executive compensation, base salary, market pricing, equity, variable pay and performance management, job evaluation, data analysis, research and cost modeling
  • Benefit experience including knowledge of health and welfare plans, leaves and time off practices, and retirement plans
  • Consistent track record of identifying problems and using strategic skills to drive appropriate solutions
  • Growth mindset and ability to embrace change with a great attitude and build structure with ambiguity
  • Understand regulatory environment and compliance requirements
  • Ability to organize and analyze data from various systems to draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Ability to synthesis analysis results and present data telling a story in a streamlined manner
  • Possess consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem solving skills

  • Ability to meet independently with senior leaders and present to them with confidence, impact and influence
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities and multitasking in a deadline oriented environment
  • Experience with vendor selection and RFPs
  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets required
  • Experience with Workday a plus
  • Proficient with Mac or PC and Google Office Applications a plus
  • Strong expertise in quantitative analysis in Excel
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
