As part of the world’s fastest-growing hearing care company, we’re on an ambitious journey to scale, aiming to double our South African business in the next two years and become the go-to hearing care company in the country. To support this growth, we’re hiring an HR/People Operations Intern.
Duration: 4 months (Ideally mid-August - mid-December 2026)
Location: Cape Town office (hybrid/flexible options can be considered)
Stipend: R8 000 per month
What You'll Be Doing- Support the People Manager with day-to-day HR/People Operations administration during a busy August - December period.
- Assist with HR/People projects as required.
- Help keep People Operations trackers, documents, checklists, and Notion pages up to date.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, employee experience, and internal communication tasks where needed.
- Assist with preparing basic reports, summaries, templates, and project updates for People-related work.
- Help with general office and team coordination where this connects to employee experience and culture.
- Support the November Summer Party (a pivotal, annual event for our audiology partner network, the South African, and parts of our Global Team) by:
- Helping HR/People maintain a visible, warm, and organised presence, while contributing to team-building and culture initiatives that help team members feel connected, engaged, and supported.
- Providing practical support to the event planning team where needed, while keeping the role focused on HR/People, culture, and employee experience.
- Warm, organised, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Someone who enjoys people, coordination, culture, and making things run smoothly.
- Comfortable taking initiative, asking good questions, and following through on details.
- Positive, reliable, and calm under pressure, especially when coordinating multiple moving parts.
- Discreet and professional when working with people-related information.
- Education: Recently graduated or currently completing studies in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology, Psychology or a related field.
- Experience: Some exposure to administration, HR/People, recruitment, office coordination, or people-focused work would be helpful.
- Comfortable using digital tools such as Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, Notion, communication platforms, and AI tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and good attention to detail.
- The People Manager is well supported during the August - December period while she transitions to a part-time schedule from September.
- HR/People has a visible, supportive presence during the Summer Party period, with practical support provided to the event planning team where needed.
- Team-building and culture initiatives are handled with care, creativity, and follow-through.
- HR/People admin projects move forward reliably, with accurate trackers, documents, and updates.
- The intern becomes a trusted extra pair of hands for People Operations and employee experience work.
- Hands-on experience in HR/People, People Operations, culture-building, and employee experience in a fast-paced healthcare-focused company.
- Exposure to real HR/People projects, internal communications, event coordination, and People Operations processes and systems.
- Mentorship and close support from the People Manager.
- Practical experience using Notion and other HRIS tools to keep HR processes organised and effective.
- Opportunity to contribute to a meaningful team culture moment through the November Summer Party.
- Potential for future opportunities within HR/People Operations if performance, business needs, and fit align.
- Based in Cape Town with a focus on in-office collaboration, especially around culture, office, and event coordination.
- Hybrid structure can be considered, ideally with at least 3 days in office per week (based in Town/Gardens area).
- Flexible hours, mostly aligned with standard weekdays.
- Reporting into our People Manager.

Skills Required
