BasiGo is an early-stage e-mobility start-up looking to revolutionise the public transportation sector by providing bus owners with a cost-effective electric alternative to diesel. BasiGo Kenya is looking for an HR Operations Associate to join our team. The HR Operations Associate will report directly to the Head of People - Kenya.
About the role:
You will play an instrumental role in supporting the Head of People with Recruitment, Onboarding, Offboarding, HR Ops & Admin, and Events Coordination where needed. This position offers a career path filled with growth and development opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Talent Acquisition:
- Support the Head of People in managing the candidate life cycle for Kenya roles & applicants, ensuring a good candidate experience throughout the process.
- Support in developing and managing recruitment materials, such as job descriptions.
- Support talent acquisition projects as required.
- New Hire Admin:
- Own and execute onboarding and off-boarding of junior to mid-level new employees by coordinating mandatory training.
- HR Ops & Team Admin Support:
- Own and manage HR operational aspects such as people-related reporting and administration of benefits..
- Act as a culture champion alongside the Head of People.
- Maintain custody of updated and accurate in-country employee and general HR records in a confidential and secure manner, in full compliance with statutory requirements and regulations.
- Support the Head of People with immigration admin.
- Support the Head of People as required and provide general administrative support to the HR team.
- Culture:
- Support the Head of People with organising team events, renovating office space, and reception duties.
Our Ideal Candidate would have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a human resources generalist or operations associate.
Experience in a diverse and inclusive work environment, and the ability to adapt to change and contribute innovative ideas.
Knowledge and specific experience:
- Working in HR in Kenya
- Supported recruitment processes and has experience in talent acquisition and onboarding
- Worked with an HRIS and Applicant Tracking System before
- Start-up experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word), Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
