Purpose:
The HR Generalist partners with cross-functional HR colleagues in areas including talent acquisition, payroll/benefits administration, talent management, ODEI (Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) and HR operational activities. This position works closely with the Talent Acquisition Team to support the Bank’s efforts to attract and retain a diverse and committed workforce. This role offers involvement in a wide variety of department projects and initiatives. This opportunity is suited for an individual desiring to contribute in various functional areas of HR.

Specific Responsibilities:

Coordinate the on and offboarding of temporary staff and contract contingent workers and maintaining innovation within those activities. This includes handling all pre-employment documents and ensuring compliance with internal, State and Federal document requirements.

Manage the Bank’s Internship Program, including developing and coordinating outreach initiatives and program activities, managing the full life cycle recruitment (on and offboarding) and maintaining innovation within the program.

Support the recruiting function in conducting full lifecycle talent acquisition processes (on and offboarding). This includes applicant sourcing, interviewing, scheduling, evaluating, negotiating offers, partnering on external communication and hiring top talent in a manner that supports the Bank’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Support our internal and external recruiting initiatives by identifying events, sponsorship opportunities and online networks to engage that will support the Bank's outreach goals. This includes assisting with the Bank's online engagement platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Diversity job boards etc.) and attending outreach events as assigned, throughout Indiana, Michigan and other neighboring states as needed.

Coordinate the Bank's Accommodation request process and related data tracking and reporting.

Maintain Workday employee profiles, job profiles and other related HRIS data fields, forms and questionnaires (e.g. EE photos, position descriptions, EEOC categories, 90-day and exit surveys etc.).

Manage the Bank's HR Suggestion box and identify trends to discuss with the HR team on an ongoing basis.

Assist with coordinating the 90-day and exit interview feedback process and identify trends to discuss with the HR team on a quarterly basis. Responsible for preparing related data that will be presented to senior management.

Support HR Colleagues in the design, implementation and facilitation of Bank-wide initiatives that support HR’s guiding principles and the Banks’ strategic business plan(s).

Support the ODEI Office in executing its Strategic Plan strategies to achieve goals and targets for workforce and workplace and any related data reporting/tracking.

Assist in maintaining current Operating Procedures and other related checklists and documents.

Ensure employee bulletin boards in specific areas are up to date with all labor law postings, current announcements, etc.

Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to affect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.

Assist Human Resources colleagues with other tasks, projects and/or administrative responsibilities as needed.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a human resources management and/or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
-
Minimum of 1-3 years proven HR experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within various functional areas of Human Resources (e.g. recruiting, payroll, employee relations, training and development, etc.).

Ability to travel for recruiting and outreach (approximately 15%)
-
Prior experience in a regulated industry or organization, financial services organization or banking institution is preferred.

Must be a flexible, organized, results-oriented, team player with outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
-
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to provide effective feedback regarding interviews and recommend employment of prospective employees.

Ability to build trusted relationships with Bank staff and other internal/external partners.
-
A high level of intellectual curiosity, initiative, accountability, attention to detail and service-oriented thinking are critical attributes for success and will need to be consistently demonstrated.

Proficiency with Microsoft office is required.

Prior experience collecting, tracking, and monitoring HR metrics/data, resulting in defining problems, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions or recommendations for improvement is desired.

Ability to perform multiple diverse tasks simultaneously and under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritize multiple demands and identify/solve problems creatively. Must maintain confidentiality.

The ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.

Must not have been convicted of any civil or criminal charge that would suggest a risk to Bank security.
