HR Coordinator

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration and execution of HR policies, programs, and procedures. This role supports employee relations, training and development, onboarding, employee communications and engagement, recruitment and staffing, payroll and attendance processes, leave administration, and HR compliance. The Human Resources Coordinator also assists with research related to California policies, training, strategic planning, and other HR-related initiatives. This position is expected to solve problems, manage priorities with minimal direction, support business objectives, and participate in site and company-wide initiatives.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may require off-shift hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as business needs require.

Pay: $30–$32 per hour, based on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leave Administration/Payroll/Attendance

  • Manage HR administrative and transactional processes, including recordkeeping, attendance tracking, FMLA/leave administration review, HR systems, applicants, new hire, and termination packets, and temporary agency workforce coordination and maintenance.

  • Review and submit payroll and communicate payroll status updates to the HR Business Partner.

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of onboarding, leave, and termination packets and related processes.

  • Review attendance records for accuracy and communicate employee point status updates to the HR Business Partner.

Talent Acquisition

  • Administer talent acquisition activities within the facility, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding.

  • Partner with corporate compliance to support regulatory compliance across HR processes, including maintaining and updating the Affirmative Action/EEO Program as required.

  • Schedule new hire orientation and send Outlook calendar invitations to trainers.

HR Administration

  • Participate in and support internal and external audits within the facility, as needed.

  • Assist with developing, coordinating, and administering facility training; follow up to ensure completion and maintain accurate training documentation.

  • Manage site-level COVID-related tracking, reporting, postings, and communications, as applicable.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Employee Relations

  • Support employee relations by assisting with investigations, research, issue resolution, and communication related to employee questions, concerns, or workplace matters.

  • Assist with accommodation-related activities, including employee communications, process coordination, documentation, and reporting.

  • Support employee wellness initiatives by helping coordinate activities, education, communication, and awareness efforts.

  • Support on-site and off-site events, including employee appreciation events, job fairs, and other employee engagement initiatives.

Required Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.

  • Two to four years of HR coordinator or HR administrative experience required; manufacturing or production environment experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of California labor laws and HR processes required.

  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, accountability, and discretion when handling confidential information.

  • Ability to make sound decisions, work independently, manage competing priorities, and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience handling confidential matters and professional correspondence.
