The Role

This is an onsite position.
Location: Mercy Hospital Pittsburg

As our HIM Associate, you will deliver exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and payors while upholding the utmost confidentiality for all patients. Your daily tasks will involve preparing, scanning, and organizing medical record information to ensure the completion of health information and data. Your role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate and confidential health records.

To thrive in this position, you will need to be detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about handling sensitive information. You’ll use your prior experience with navigating multiple systems to collect patient information and enter it into multiple computer systems.  You’ll use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to answer questions from patients as well as physicians and their staff. 

Although previous healthcare experience would be helpful, it is not required. We will teach you our industry-leading technology and a variety of medical terminology to perform at your best and feel good about what you do.

Here’s What You Can Expect

  • You will handle incoming telephone calls and voicemails from patients, health care professionals, and payors ensuring they are answered promptly with appropriate information.  

  • You will manage the Release of Information for continuing care following departmental policies and procedures.

  • You will achieve consistent quality performance and meet the quality standard as defined by the department.

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $14.50 - $19.69 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
