Where You Come In
We’re looking for a Head of Talent to lead and scale Chowdeck’s talent strategy, ensuring we attract, hire, and retain exceptional people as the company grows across markets and functions.
In this role, you will own the full talent lifecycle, leading talent acquisition, employer branding, workforce planning, and early-career pipelines. You’ll work closely with executive leadership, hiring managers, and the People team to translate business growth plans into a sustainable, high-quality hiring engine ensuring that hiring is not just fast, but compliant, and consistent.
This is a high-impact leadership role where your decisions will directly influence the team quality, speed of execution, and long-term organisational health.
In this role you'll be required to:
- Own and execute Chowdeck’s end-to-end talent acquisition strategy across all functions and levels.
- Translate company growth plans into hiring roadmaps and workforce plans.
- Own hiring execution end-to-end ensuring smooth handoff from sourcing and offer acceptance into onboarding and first-day readiness.
- Lead and develop a high-performing recruiting team.
- Partner with leadership to define hiring priorities, role scopes, and success profiles.
- Drive employer branding initiatives to position Chowdeck as an employer of choice.
- Establish scalable hiring processes, tools, and interview standards.
- Track and improve hiring KPIs including time-to-hire, quality of hire, funnel conversion, and candidate experience.
- Build processes and guardrails so hiring execution scales beyond individual effort.
- Identify hiring risks, bottlenecks, and capacity gaps early and proactively address them.
- Manage recruiting budgets, agency relationships, and external partners.
- Ensure fair, inclusive, and compliant hiring practices across all markets.
You’re a strong fit for the role if you:
- Have 8+ years of experience in talent acquisition or human resource leadership roles.
- Have led hiring at scale in fast-growing startups or high-growth organisations.
- Have a strong track record of building recruiting teams and systems from scratch.
- Are comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
- Are data-driven and experienced in using hiring metrics to drive decisions.
- Communicate clearly and can influence senior stakeholders.
- Take ownership and operate with a builder’s mindset.
We’ll be extra impressed if you:
- Have experience hiring across multiple African markets.
- Have built graduate or early-career hiring programs.
- Have worked in marketplace, logistics, or tech-enabled consumer businesses.
