The Position

Roche Diagnostics K.K. (RDKK) in Japan is looking for a Head of Finance & Supply Chain Management (SCM), reporting to the General Manager of RDKK. Head of Fin & SCM has the overall responsibilities for finance, supply chain management and business process management (including also Accounting, indirect Procurement, Facility Management and Internal Control) for Roche’s diagnostics business in Japan. 

You will be responsible for driving not only RDKK, but also Finance and Roche group’s  strategies, operations and people development while providing superior partnership to the business. 

You have experiences to co-create solutions with colleagues in an agile way of working and a track record of finance excellence experiences and matching customer needs, while ensuring profitability and sustainability of the business under the rapid transformation in the Diagnostics division and RDKK.

Roles:

The Head of Finance & SCM is responsible for all financial aspects in RDKK. 

The role ensures that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies and the Roche group rules are met regarding all financial affairs. You will partner with the business leaders with financial topics related to the business.

The Head of Finance & SCM is also responsible for all supply chain processes in RDKK including supply & demand planning, order management, 3PL management and deliveries of goods to customers. 

The role ensures that Roche Quality Standards (e.g. temperature) are applied throughout the supply chain processes in Japan and 3PL operations are performing based on contractual KPIs. 

Active search for process improvements followed by implementation in both daily processes and SOP’s in RDKK is included in the role as well.

As a member of the Senior Leadership team of RDKK, the Head of Finance & SCM has a holistic view across the organization to discuss and advise the GM and other stakeholders about business insights and new ideas for achieving the short & long-term business success under the changing business environment. 

Experience and a strong network across the global Roche family beyond APAC are strongly preferable for the future business success of RDKK.

As Head of Finance and Supply Chain Management, you have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Economics or respective qualification.

  • Post graduate education, preferably a Master Degree with a major in BA/Management, Finance or Marketing.

  • Minimum 10-year experience in finance enterprise partnering in the healthcare industry with a proven track record of people development, strong leadership skills and cross-border collaboration.

  • Strong analytical and leadership skills to identify strategic priorities, based on complex market potential assessments, including the development and delivery of business strategies.

  • Familiarity or experience in the Agile Way of Working is considered an advantage

  • Leadership experience in commercial finance, including leading a multi-cultural team.

  • Good command in both spoken and written English, preferably in Japanese as well.

  • Ability to converse in the local language in business discussions would be an advantage.  A high level of curiosity in Japanese culture and an eagerness to embrace this is expected from the position holder.
