The Head of Domains and Email will run the Domains and Email businesses as a business within a business and with ownership of product strategy, P&L, team, and commercial outcomes. This is a GM-model leadership role. You set the vision, build the org, own the numbers, and drive execution end to end. You will report directly to the President.

AI is fundamentally reshaping how people discover, register, manage, and derive value from domain names and DNS infrastructure. This role is a rare opportunity to lead that transformation at a meaningful scale and to define the very first step of every entrepreneur’s digital journey.

You'll Get To...Business Ownership
    • Own the Domains business end to end: strategy, P&L, headcount, organizational design, and long-range planning.
    • Set a compelling multi-year vision and translate it into annual operating plans with clear milestones, budgets, and accountability structures.
    • Own the commercial strategy: pricing, packaging, acquisition, retention, and expansion — including cross-sell and upsell into adjacent Squarespace products in close partnership with Marketing, Customer Operations, and Partnerships.
    • Lead strategic partnerships with registries, resellers, channel partners, and technology vendors.
Product Strategy & Execution
    • Drive a differentiated product strategy for Domains — deepening customer experiences, accelerating innovation, and integrating the Domains business into a cohesive, entrepreneur-focused product ecosystem across Squarespace.
    • Develop scalable customer research practices that surface insights to drive roadmap prioritization, new product investment, and future strategy.
    • Collaborate closely with Engineering to build a high-trust, high-output environment for operational and delivery excellence.
AI Transformation
    • Own the AI transformation agenda for Domains, not just shipping AI features, but fundamentally reimagining the business model, operations, and competitive advantages through AI.
    • Build an AI-native team where AI fluency is a baseline expectation and where humans and agents work together to move faster and deliver more customer value.
Team & Talent
    • Hire, develop, and retain top talent. Build a high-performance, inclusive culture anchored in clear metrics and accountability for business results.
    • Identify and develop future leaders within the Domains organization.
Who We're Looking For
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including significant ownership of a consumer-facing product or line of business. Domain expertise in Registry / Registrar or DNS products is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and scaling a consumer product or business from strategy through execution to measurable commercial outcomes.
  • A builder’s mindset: energized by ambiguity, decisive with incomplete information, and relentless about moving fast without sacrificing quality.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with engineering teams and cross-functional or matrixed delivery organizations. A technical background is a meaningful advantage.
  • Customer-obsessed: you build for real people, you talk to them, and you hold your team to the same standard.
  • Deep understanding of AI and ML at a strategic and operational level, with direct experience owning an AI transformation — rethinking how a business competes and delivers value through AI.
  • Exceptional communicator with strong executive presence and the ability to align diverse stakeholders around a clear and compelling vision.

Cash Compensation Range: $350,000 - $425,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure in addition to base salary.
