Job Description

  • Work in developing regional compliance plans for the businesses and geographies managed, i.e. markets generating annual revenue of ~INR 50 Billion serviced by 1973 employees across 22 countries
  • Lead compliance scoping for new market expansion initiatives and oversee team of Compliance and Legal team leads doing the same
  • Provide strategic guidance to product and business leadership regarding compliance requirements and market suitability
  • Support tactical scoping for new market compliance requirements, and partner with internal teams to operationalize
  • Manage local compliance officers in expansion markets
  • Drive Compliance agenda while collaborating with heads of Legal in the different expansion markets
  • Serve in statutory positions as permitted by regulation and where required and / or appropriate 
  • Represent the organisation’s Compliance function internally in the relevant geographies and externally, including to regulators and bank partners
  • Partner with Compliance leadership and Global CCO to set vision and strategy for Emerging Markets Compliance
  • Establish robust and mature processes for Emerging Markets Compliance work
  • Conducts regular assessments to determine whether policies are compliant with the law

4-5 direct reportees with a roll-up team of 10-12 colleagues

Qualifications

  • 16-25 years of practical experience in compliance program implementation working in a MNC
  • Proven project management skills and ability to lead a team
  • Proven experience of communicating effectively with decision-making individuals within an organization
  • Pragmatic, self-starter with strong analytical skills to identify core issues. Strong problem-solving ability to come up with practical solutions that comply with law and work for the business 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to tailor your message to your target audience and communicate complex issues clearly and persuasively
  • Ability to build solid relationships and to influence across a diverse group of business people with a wide array of professional backgrounds, including executive management 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines. 
  • Unquestionable ethics and excellent judgment, ability to maintain confidentiality and act in a critical position of trust within the company.
  • The ability and desire to work independently with limited direct supervision.
