Head of Accounting

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accounting principles.
• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
• Prepare and present financial statements and reports to management for strategic decision-making.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts; provide insights and recommendations for improvements.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions and strategy.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
