At Ubiquiti, you’ll heighten your potential and broaden your horizons, all while shaping the future of connectivity.

Role summary
Own the design, bring-up, and validation of electronics for multimedia systems (panel/receiver/scan boards), with emphasis on MCU control, LED driver chains, high-current power distribution, and EMC/ESD robustness.
Responsibilities
  • Define system architecture for multimedia panels/modules (receiver/scan boards, hub interfaces, inter-panel connectors).
  • Schematic capture and layout guidance for multilayer PCBs; drive placement/routing to ensure good routability and SI/PI margins.
  • Select and integrate constant-current LED driver ICs; design row/column scan topologies (e.g., 1/8–1/64), PWM/gray-scale timing, global brightness control, and refresh ≥ 3,840 Hz.
  • Implement calibration hooks (per-panel uniformity, gamma/white-balance, mapping tables) and non-volatile storage strategy.
  • Power design: 5–48 V inputs, DC/DC (buck/boost), high-current 5/12 V buses, inrush/OR-ing, current sensing, thermal derating, and protections (OVP/OCP/OTP).
  • EMC/ESD/Surge hardening at the board and enclosure level (IEC 61000-4-2/-4-4/-4-5, CISPR 32/EN 55032); grounding, shielding, filtering, and panel-to-panel cabling design.
  • High-speed and robust links as needed (Gigabit Ethernet/LVDS/RS-485/isolated comms; HUB-style panel interfaces).
  • Build test fixtures and factory programming/jig interfaces; author EVT/DVT plans, scripts (Python preferred), and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive FA/RCAs on field returns; collaborate with suppliers (LED drivers, panels, power) and contract manufacturers to close issues and cost down.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 6+ years of hardware design in displays/LED drivers/embedded systems, including end-to-end ownership from schematic to MP.
  • Hands-on MCU experience: board bring-up, bootloaders, peripheral drivers, HW/FW integration, and debug (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, SWD/JTAG).
  • Solid knowledge of constant-current LED drivers, scan multiplexing, PWM/gray-scale generation, and timing closure for large LED matrices.
  • Proven PI/SI fundamentals and power design skills (synchronous buck, layout for high current, loop stability, transient response).
  • Practical EMC/ESD design experience and successful compliance history (IEC 61000-4-2 contact ±8 kV / air ±15 kV or higher).
  • Proficiency with schematic/layout tools (Altium/OrCAD or similar) and versioned documentation (BOMs, specs, ECNs).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LED video-wall ecosystems (receiver/scanner cards, HUB interfaces, calibration workflows).
  • Familiarity with common LED driver families (e.g., MBI/ICN/Novatek or similar) and large-array current/thermal budgeting.
  • PoE (802.3af/at/bt), isolated DC/DC, or high-power backplanes.
  • Manufacturing-oriented design (DFM/DFT), fixture development, boundary-scan, and factory test scripting.
  • Cross-functional communication (PM/ID/ME/FW/PDM) in English; vendor management experience.
Nice to have
  • Camera-based color/brightness calibration experience; data pipelines for per-pixel/region corrections.
  • Experience hardening designs against ESD during handling (e.g., on-cell touch/guard-ring strategies, chassis-to-logic RC links).
Benefits
  • International work environment and collaboration with global development teams
  • Excellent work conditions
  • Competitive package: great pay, perks, and benefits
  • Group insurance and health coverage
  • Flexible working hours and patterns
  • Complimentary drinks and snacks at the office

  • Solid knowledge of constant-current LED drivers, scan multiplexing, PWM/gray-scale generation, and timing closure for large LED matrices.
  • Proven power integrity/signal integrity fundamentals and power design skills (synchronous buck, high-current layout, loop stability, transient response).
