Qualifications

We are seeking caring individuals looking for an opportunity to assist others. The Habilitation Tech (DSP) provides care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Habilitation Tech (DSP) provides community integration/inclusion guidance, and consultation to individuals, families, and significant involved persons. In addition, they develop opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate in community activities while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residential participants living in the facility through proper supervision.

Qualifications Required

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess Arizona driver’s license with acceptable driving record including but not limited to no serious traffic violations (ie. Reckless Driving; at fault accident; felony speeding/20 mph or over) or greater than 2 traffic violations in prior 39 months. Certification in first aid, CPR, and de-escalation training; if candidate does not possess active certification agency will provide training. 
  • Ability to prepare required paperwork to support and document activities in the contractually required timelines.
  • Ability to type and working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping.
  • Ability to successfully complete certification and trainings for First Aid, CPR, Article 9, Medication, and PROUD (aka Prevention/Support), Direct Care Worker and any other required training. The agency will provide training if the candidate does not possess.
  • Able to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated skills to ensure respectful communication to participants and coworkers.
  • Must obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and pass a background check along with Central Registry Clearance.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and a varied schedule each week.

Qualifications Preferred

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Sign Language.
  • Prior experience in Habilitation or Rehabilitation
  • Two years of experience in a person-centered community integration program assisting persons with developmental and/or psychiatric disabilities.
  • Two (2) years of experience in habilitation/rehabilitative assistance to persons with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities
  • Very strong interpersonal skills
