The Role: Group Financial Crime Risk and Controls ConsultantThis is an excellent opportunity for an financial crime or risk professional to take ownership of one of the most important components of our 2LoD financial crime framework. The role sits in 2LoD Global Financial Crime Compliance PRAGMA team (Policy, Reporting, Analytics, Governance, Methodologies and Awareness), providing exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation and the ability to directly influence how financial crime risks are identified, assessed, governed and managed. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the Group Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA), ensuring that risk assessments across business units are effectively challenged, aggregated and translated into a clear Group-wide view of financial crime risk.The role offers significant breadth and strategic impact, covering all major financial crime risk domains, including AML, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, customer due diligence and third-party risk. Beyond methodology ownership, the position provides the opportunity to enhance key governance tools such as risk registers, jurisdiction risk assessments, watchlist frameworks, screening controls and customer exit processes. It is ideally suited to an individual who enjoys combining technical financial crime expertise with senior stakeholder engagement, influencing decision-making at Executive and Board levels, and driving continuous improvement across a complex global organisation. This represents a highly visible role with the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the firm's financial crime risk management framework and overall risk culture.Key Responsibilities for this Role:
  • Owning and maintaining the Group Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) framework and methodology.
  • Enhancing review, challenge and aggregation of Business Unit EWRAs into a Group view, including critical analysis of data metrics, calibration, weighting and scoring.
  • Designing and maintaining financial crime risk assessment methodologies covering products, clients, distribution partners, counterparties and third parties.
  • Maintaining risk lists and registers, including jurisdiction heatmaps, approved regulators/exchanges, restricted lists and key financial crime risks.
  • Overseeing Group-wide watchlist, screening and exits frameworks.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Strong financial crime risk management expertise, including AML, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud, KYC/CDD, and the design and governance of enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessment methodologies.
  • Strong experience developing and overseeing Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments (EWRAs), including aggregation of Business Unit assessments, risk scoring methodologies, risk taxonomies, and the production of Group-level risk insights and reporting.
  • Proven ability to maintain and enhance financial crime risk frameworks and governance tools, including risk registers, jurisdiction risk assessments and heatmaps, approved regulator/exchange lists, restricted lists, watchlist governance, screening controls, and customer exit frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders, present complex risk information to Executive and Board-level committees, and ensure consistent application of risk methodologies across multiple jurisdictions and business units.
