About the Role

The GMX Internal Communications Coordinator plays a key role in helping the GMX Organization communicate clearly, consistently, and effectively. This role supports the development and execution of GMX internal communications by maintaining editorial systems, coordinating communication rhythms, and ensuring leaders and teams have the tools they need to tell eBay’s business and strategic narrative with confidence.
 

Working closely with the Global Communications senior partners, and GMX leaders, this role ensures that GMX employees: understand priorities across Focus Categories, C2C, eBay Live, and our Global Footprint (Shipping & Cross-Border Trade); see how employees’ work contributes to eBay’s mission; and stay connected to the organization’s progress and impact.
 

This is an ideal opportunity for a communications professional who is highly organized, editorially minded, adept with AI tools, and eager to grow in a fast-paced, global environment. 
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9:00AM - 5:00PM.

 

What You Will Accomplish:

 

Editorial & Narrative Support

  • Support the development and maintenance of the GMX strategic narrative and editorial themes.

  • Help translate business priorities into clear, consistent messaging across communications channels.

  • Ensure messaging aligns with company priorities and internal communications standards.

 

Editorial Calendar & Communications Rhythm

  • Maintain a GMX editorial calendar, tracking key achievements, updates, and communication moments.

  • Coordinate timelines, approvals, and content flow to ensure communications are delivered on time

  • Support the planning and execution of GMX forums, including Town Halls, leadership meetings, special events, and internal activations

 

Leadership Communications Enablement

  • Assist in preparing communication materials for GMX leaders, including talking points, briefing notes, and updates.

  • Provide editorial support to ensure messaging is clear, concise, and aligned with the GMX strategic narrative.

  • Use tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or internal AI tools to draft messaging, summarize feedback, and create reusable templates

 

Channel Management & Governance

  • Support the management and optimization of GMX communication channels, including Slack, email, and eBay’s intranet and internal video channels

  • Ensure content is published accurately and consistently across platforms.

  • Help define and reinforce channel standards to improve clarity and reduce noise.

 

Listening & Insights Support

  • Identify trends and communication gaps, analyzing feedback from GMX employees to understand communication effectiveness.

  • Track engagement metrics and use AI to summarize insights to inform future communication strategies.

  • Support quarterly insight reporting and recommendations for improvement.

 

Communications Infrastructure & Coordination

  • Maintain communication infrastructure such as distribution lists, aliases, and content repositories.

  • Ensure communication tools, templates, and systems remain organized and up to date.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support communication initiatives and projects as needed.

 

What You Will Bring:  

 

Required:

  • Proven experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field.

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to clarity and detail.

  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate and automate existing workflows, and using AI to create new workflows

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience supporting communication plans, editorial calendars, or internal content delivery.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

  • Familiarity with internal communications tools and platforms (e.g., Slack, intranet platforms, email systems).

  • Innovative spirit and a “can-do” demeanor

 

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting leadership communications or executive messaging.

  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization.

  • Interest in storytelling, employee engagement, and organizational communications strategy.

  • GMX communications are delivered on time, clearly, and consistently.

  • Editorial calendars and communication rhythms run smoothly and predictably.

  • Leaders and teams have access to clear, reusable messaging and communication tools.

  • Communication channels are well-managed, purposeful, and easy to navigate.

  • Feedback and insights contribute to continuous improvement in GMX communications.

  • Improved employee understanding of GMX priorities and Increased engagement with key communications.

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$89,200 - $119,100

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
