Position Summary

Moog is seeking a highly experienced Global Test Equipment Engineer to lead global test equipment sustainment strategy and performance improvement initiatives for Moog’s suite of Test Equipment. This role will support the Original Equipment (OE), Aftermarket, and Aircraft Control Components (ACC) business units.

The position will interface with test equipment sustainment and design engineering, product engineering, operations, supply chain, and global sites, driving strategic initiatives to improve test equipment availability, performance, and long-term sustainability of Moog-owned equipment both internally and at supplier locations.

To be considered for the Global Test Equipment Engineer role, here's what you'll typically bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related discipline).

  • Significant experience in test equipment engineering, design, sustainment, or support within aerospace or a regulated industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in project engineering or technical program leadership.

  • Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, automated test systems, flight control electronics and data acquisition.

  • Experience working across multiple sites or in a global environment.

  • Willingness/ability to travel to Moog and aftermarket sites globally, initially at a high rate (up to 25%) to get to know the sites, and then at a lower rate (approx. 10% of time).

  • Willingness/ability to work across multiple time zones.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related field.

  • Experience with hydraulic/flight control test equipment systems.

  • Experience with Electronics Flight Controls test equipment systems.

  • Knowledge of obsolescence management and lifecycle planning.

  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma or reliability engineering methodologies.

  • Experience supporting repair & overhaul (R&O) operations and aftermarket environments.

As a Global Test Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Global Test Equipment Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Develop and implement test equipment replacement and upgrade strategies for OE, Aftermarket and ACC business units.

  • Provide inputs to drive technology roadmaps to address obsolescence, maintainability, and evolving product and site requirements.

Test Equipment Reliability & Performance Improvement

  • Partner with site sustainment, operations and product engineering teams to analyze and Pareto test equipment issues across global sites.

  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability, uptime, utilization and throughput.

  • Work with product engineering on ways to improve test equipment efficiency at running ATPs and improving first past yield (FPY).

  • Work with Test Equipment design & sustainment teams to implement design improvements and upgrades to existing equipment.

  • Define and track key performance metrics (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, FPY, uptime) and develop improvement plans.

Program & Project Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional projects related to test equipment upgrades, deployments, and modernization.

  • Manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk for upgrade projects.

  • Support generation of capital requests for new/upgraded Test Equipment.

  • Create capital funding requests for test equipment projects and present to capital approvers for approval.

  • Drive alignment across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain organizations.

Aftermarket & Customer Support Strategy

  • Provide oversight for support of non-Moog aftermarket partnership sites that have Test Equipment.

  • Drive improvements in aftermarket test equipment support responsiveness, availability, and lifecycle support.

Supplier Test Equipment Support

  • Provide technical oversight and support for Moog-owned test equipment located at supplier facilities.

  • Ensure suppliers meet Moog standards for maintenance, calibration, and operational readiness.

  • Collaborate with supply chain and supplier quality teams to address performance gaps.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $150,000.00–$185,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
