Global NPI Manufacturing Systems Engineer
Location: Poland (Hybrid)
Travel: International travel required (approximately 15–25%)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Global NPI Manufacturing Systems Engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities across our international manufacturing operations.
This role is focused on the industrialisation of new products and the development of robust manufacturing systems capable of supporting world-class quality, delivery, and productivity performance from launch.
The successful candidate will work closely with global Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure new products are designed for manufacture, assembly, testability, scalability, and operational excellence.
This is a highly collaborative international role requiring strong technical capability, structured problem-solving skills, and fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Unlike traditional manufacturing engineering positions, this role is primarily focused on new product industrialisation and manufacturing system design rather than supporting day-to-day production operations.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Industrialisation
- Lead manufacturing engineering activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through to production launch.
- Drive Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/DFA) reviews with Engineering teams to ensure manufacturable and scalable product designs.
- Define manufacturing strategies, process architectures, assembly methodologies, and production system concepts for new products.
- Support prototype, EVT/DVT/PVT, pilot, and production launch activities across global manufacturing sites.
Risk Management & Process Robustness
- Lead and facilitate DFMEA and PFMEA activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing and product risks early in the development cycle.
- Develop robust process controls, validation strategies, and mistake-proofing solutions (poka-yoke).
- Support process qualification and validation activities to ensure manufacturing readiness and repeatability.
- Ensure lessons learned and best practices are incorporated into future product and process designs.
Manufacturing System Design
- Define production layouts, workstation concepts, tooling requirements, fixtures, test equipment, and manufacturing process flows.
- Develop manufacturing documentation including:
- Process flows
- Standard operating procedures
- Visual work instructions
- Control plans
- Routings and BOM structures
- Support automation and semi-automation concepts where appropriate to improve scalability and operational robustness.
Cross-Functional Global Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Operations teams across multiple international locations.
- Support manufacturing transfer and launch readiness activities globally.
- Provide technical leadership during pilot builds and early production phases.
- Travel internationally to support manufacturing implementation, supplier engagement, and launch activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrialisation, or NPI environments.
- Strong experience leading or facilitating DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
- Proven experience supporting new product industrialisation and production launch activities.
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing risk reduction methodologies.
- Experience with manufacturing process development, validation, and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capability using structured methodologies.
- Fluent English communication skills — written and verbal — are essential.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
Preferred
- Experience in electromechanical, instrumentation, or electronics manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Lean product launch methodologies and APQP principles.
- Experience with CAD systems such as Creo, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
- Understanding of automation, fixtures, test systems, and manufacturing technologies.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is advantageous.
