General Sales Manager Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all new and used vehicle sales operations
  • Drive dealership sales performance, profitability, and market share growth
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop sales managers and sales consultants
  • Establish and monitor sales goals, KPIs, and performance metrics
  • Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction and retention
  • Manage inventory levels, vehicle merchandising, and pricing strategies
  • Partner with F&I, Fixed Operations, and executive leadership to maximize dealership performance
  • Maintain compliance with manufacturer standards and dealership policies
  • Monitor sales processes and implement strategies to improve closing ratios
  • Review reports, forecasts, and departmental financial performance
