Our journey
Founded in 2017 by Alexandre and Steve, Qonto has grown to 1,600+ Qontoers serving over 600,000 customers across 8 European countries: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands. We have been profitable since 2023, and we are just getting started as we want to become the indisputable European leader in SME finance management.

Join us as a General Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for Qonto's European entities while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
👩💻🧑💻 As a General Accountant at Qonto, you will
• Manage accounting processes, including bank reconciliation, VAT reconciliation, and monthly closings, with unwavering accuracy;
• Coordinate with local accounting firms for tax declarations and financial statements, ensure compliance with local accounting standards and reporting requirements;
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the finance department.
🤔 What you can expect:
• Market/Team Context: You'll join a dynamic accounting team serving over 600,000 customers, working alongside experienced professionals in the General Accounting team. Your role will have a direct impact on Qonto's financial health and growth in a fast-paced environment.
• Tools & Technology: You'll work with advanced accounting systems, including SAP S/4HANA, artificial intelligence, and the Accounting Rule Engine for financial flow management.

🤝 About your future manager
Your manager will be David, our Lead General Accountant at Qonto.
• His path? David has built a solid foundation in accounting and finance through his diverse career path. Before joining Qonto, he was a Senior Manager in Finance & Audit at Batt & Associés, managing a team and handling various financial operations. He started his professional journey at KPMG as a financial auditor, where he developed his expertise in auditing and financial risk analysis.
• What can he bring to the team? Leading a team of five, David leverages his extensive experience to guide and mentor his team effectively. His profound finance and accounting knowledge and leadership skills enable him to streamline financial processes and drive impactful results.
🏅 About You
• Experience: You have 4 to 5 years of experience, ideally acquired in an accounting firm (cabinet) or in a similar corporate role. You are accustomed to working on various entities with specific local requirements.
• Education: Ideally, you hold a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Technical Expertise: You have strong accounting fundamentals (Balance sheet, P&L, etc.) and are proficient in International accounting rules. You are an advanced user of Excel (Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, etc.) and have previous experience with ERP systems (SAP knowledge is a strong plus).
• Autonomy & Mindset: You are proactive and capable of working autonomously on documents in foreign languages (e.g., German,Spanish), demonstrating high adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Process Improvement: You have a track record of identifying and implementing efficiency improvements in accounting processes;
• Languages: You are fluent in French and English, capable of coordinating with international stakeholders.
