About Us

At Félix, we are building the indispensable financial companion for Latinos in the US. We combine an AI-powered, conversational-first interface with real-time financial infrastructure to make cross-border money movement as easy as sending a text. Starting with fast, affordable remittances powered by AI and crypto rails, we are expanding into credit, savings, and wallet services to support the complete immigrant financial journey. Our ambition is to deliver a white-glove financial experience with the simplicity of a conversation to a community the traditional financial system has historically overlooked.

We are a hyper-growth Series C company, backed by over $300 million in funding from top-tier global investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, QED, Castle Island, Switch Ventures, HTwenty, Monashees, General Catalyst Customer Value Fund. This isn't just about the numbers; it's a testament to the trust our investors have in our vision and our team. Additionally, Félix was selected as an “Endeavour Entrepreneur” and was a recipient of the CrossTech Fintech Startups Award.

Joining Félix means you will be part of a team building a legacy, a company that will outlive us all. This is a rare opportunity to apply your skills to a deeply meaningful mission—serving a community that has been underserved for too long because we are obsessed with our customers. We get things done with urgency and focus, driven by extreme ownership over our impact. We collaborate without ego, fostering radical transparency and fierce loyalty so we can grow together. Because we aim for insanely great rather than just good enough, we stay insatiably curious—always experimenting, building the future today, and delivering a product that truly makes our users' lives better.

Responsibilities:

  • Own fraud ring and fraud attack monitoring. Serve as the team's point of contact for tracking known and newly formed rings, identifying active fraud in real time, and blocking suspicious users before they can exploit gaps in our controls.
  • Own external intelligence monitoring tools (e.g., Axur). Run and evolve how we use them, translating external signals into anticipated attack vectors and concrete preventive actions.
  • Go deep into fraudsters' MOs. Reverse-engineer how controls were bypassed, connect isolated cases into a common modus operandi, and use labeling and case data as inputs to surface potential rings.
  • Share insights so we mitigate fast. Distribute findings on active attacks and emerging MOs to Operations, Strategy, and other stakeholders quickly and clearly, so mitigations land ASAP rather than after the loss.
  • Pull your own data. Independently source what an investigation needs — writing SQL queries, building and monitoring dashboards, and using AI tools to accelerate data pulls and analysis. Backoffice tools support the analysis; they are not the primary investigation tool.
  • Own higher-complexity fraud cases end-to-end with a high degree of autonomy — coordinated schemes, suspected rings, and ambiguous escalations — closing each with a documented MO and evidence trail.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on fraud typologies, MOs, and emerging threats for the team and its stakeholders.
  • Review recent transactions and chargebacks on new product and country launches, flagging gaps and opportunities for strategy adjustments.
  • Work through stakeholder escalations and risky cohort alerts, serving as the point of contact for deep dives escalated by the Investigations Specialist, Team Lead, Manager, or external stakeholders. Escalate confirmed rings and patterns to the Specialist for rule and strategy work.
  • Support and train junior investigators on complex cases, sharing methodology and fraud knowledge to lift the team's overall capability.
  • Document investigation methodologies and findings so results are reproducible and learnings stay with the team.
  • Participate in ad hoc team projects such as process optimizations, tool enhancements, and fraud prevention initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduation from any Business Major.
  • Fluent in English (oral & written).
  • Proven experience in fraud investigation and transaction monitoring, including ownership of complex cases
  • Deep understanding of fraud typologies and modus operandi.
  • Strong analytical thinking and data storytelling — able to identify fraud rings through aggregated data (dashboards, alerts) as well as through deep-dive investigations.
  • Data resourcefulness: comfortable getting the data you need on your own through a combination of SQL, dashboards, and AI tools, rather than depending on other teams to pull it for you.
  • Basic SQL: comfortable with core commands and able to build simple queries independently.
  • Working familiarity with AI tools for data retrieval, summarization, and analysis — and the judgment to validate what they return.
  • Experience building and monitoring dashboards for ongoing fraud detection
  • Intermediate Excel: able to build pivot tables and charts to extract insights from aggregated data.
  • Basic data analysis skills.
  • Experience with G Suite products.
  • Strong communication skills — able to turn a technical finding into an insight a non-specialist stakeholder can act on quickly.
  • Curiosity, root-cause obsession, and a habit of documenting process.
  • Willingness to join a rotating on-call schedule for select weekends, providing technical support and incident resolution.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with external fraud intelligence platforms (e.g., Axur) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to scale fraud investigations — accelerating data pulls, pattern detection, and case analysis to cover more ground without losing depth — is a plus.
  • Experience coaching or training junior team members is a plus.
  • These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.
