Job DescriptionTo investigate and detect illegal, fraudulent or improper activities by monitoring accounts for fraud, analysing trends, reporting on security threats and resolving fraud cases in order to mitigate risk of financial loss for Standard Bank Group (SBG).
- Determine customer requirements by engaging with the customers using relevant communication mediums (e.g., telephone, email, SMS) to deliver a consistent service suitable to meet the needs of the customer in line with the laid down communication procedures.
- Stay abreast of customer conduct on an account by analyzing bank statements and other sources of information.
- Interpretation and application of scorecards or risk matrix where applicable to ensure consistent fraud detection solutions are provided to the customer.
- Inform customers of their rights and obligations to the Bank to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Report all identified matters, defects, deficiencies and risks to all relevant internal and external bodies, persons, or entities in line with regulatory and legislative reporting requirements to adhere to laid down escalation processes.
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions by ensuring self-development through compliance courses and trainings to mitigate risk to the Bank.
- Update relevant systems with all required accurate information and data to enable the consumption of the information by the relevant stakeholders/entities for decision making. (Accurate alert tagging, accurate case information and relevant system history notes)
- BSc Risk Management or related field.
- Relevant professional qualification can be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 3-4 years Experience with call centre operations. Experience in all facets of the banking service environment and its associated products, processes, and systems with experience in fraud risk management across banking products and platforms. Knowledge of dealing with client relevant legislation and how it is implemented in a banking environment.
