Docflow is a platform that builds AI agents that run the back office for speciality healthcare providers.
The Role
Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through pilots, closing, and account expansion. Lead customer workflow discovery, translate manual processes into AI automation plans, and manage implementations through launch with engineering support. Maintain pipeline momentum, improve internal sales and implementation tools, provide customer feedback to product, and help establish the company’s sales and implementation processes. The role requires approximately 50% travel for conferences and customer visits and in-office work when not traveling.
Summary Generated by Built In

Docflow builds AI agents that run the back office for healthcare providers. Our automation handles the work that buries their teams: document intake, prior authorizations, order entry, and payer portal workflows. Customers start with a paid pilot, see real work getting done within weeks, and expand from there.

We’re a small, scrappy, AI-native founding team, and we’re growing fast. Our pipeline is already bigger than we can work. That’s why we’re hiring you.

The Role

You’ll be our first hire outside the founding team, and this is a true founding seat. It’s also a hybrid role: part full-cycle sales, part AI-first implementation. You’ll own new revenue from sourcing and qualifying through demo, pilot, and close, plus expanding the customers you land. And you won’t just sell the product. You’ll use our AI tools to learn how each customer’s work actually gets done, and then own getting their automation live, pulling in our product engineer when the build calls for it.

That combination is the whole point of this role. The best person here has real sales experience and is also deeply organized and process-minded, the kind of person who sees a messy manual workflow and instinctively wants to automate it. You don’t need to be an engineer. You need to think in systems and steps, and be excited to learn how software and automation actually get built. You will learn a tremendous amount here about both.

You’ll start with a deep rolodex of warm leads we’ve already built (hundreds of qualified prospects and active deals waiting for attention) and grow that list through outbound, conferences, and referrals. You’ll work directly with the founders every day. Your first weeks are structured training: learning the product, the industry, and riding along on live deals. We pay guaranteed ramp compensation while you get there.

What You’ll Do
  • Run the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, demo, scope pilots, close, and expand accounts

  • Use our AI tools to learn how a customer’s work actually gets done today, and turn that into a clear picture of what we’re automating

  • Own a signed pilot all the way to live automation, staying in the lead and looping in our product engineer when the build needs one

  • Own follow-up on our existing pipeline and keep every deal moving

  • Shape the internal tools you use, so every deal and every implementation gets faster for the whole team

  • Travel roughly half your weeks for regional industry conferences and customer visits across the US, typically 2 to 3 day trips

  • Work from our North Hollywood WeWork office when you’re not on the road

  • Feed what you learn from customers back into the product and the sales playbook

  • Help define what sales and implementation at Docflow look like, because you’re building both with us

What We’re Looking For

Must have:

  • 4+ years of software sales experience, including at least 2 years in a full-cycle closing role. You’ve sourced your own pipeline, carried a quota, and signed customers, not just booked meetings.

  • A strong process and systems mindset. You’re highly organized and you get real satisfaction from turning a messy manual process into a clean automated one.

  • Scrappy, hungry, and adaptable. As the first non-founder hire, you’ll do things well outside a normal sales job, and that should excite you.

  • Willingness to travel about 50% and work in-office five days a week when you’re not traveling.

  • Genuine interest in AI-based automation and how software gets built.

Preferred:

  • Healthcare sales experience, or experience selling into provider or back-office operations

  • You actually use AI tools yourself, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Bolt, Lovable, v0, or Replit

  • Hands-on experience with workflow or process automation of any kind

  • Based in Los Angeles, or ready to be

Compensation and Benefits
  • On-target earnings of $140,000 to $170,000 depending on experience, split roughly 50/50 between base and commission

  • Guaranteed compensation during your initial ramp period while you train

  • Founding-team equity

  • Health insurance

Skills Required

  • 4+ years of software sales experience
  • At least 2 years in a full-cycle closing role
  • Experience sourcing pipeline, carrying a quota, and signing customers
  • Strong process and systems mindset; highly organized and able to automate manual processes
  • Scrappy, adaptable, and willing to perform responsibilities beyond a typical sales role
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%
  • Willingness to work in-office five days per week when not traveling
  • Genuine interest in AI-based automation and how software is built
  • Healthcare sales experience or experience selling into provider or back-office operations
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Bolt, Lovable, v0, or Replit
  • Hands-on workflow or process automation experience
  • Based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate there

What We Do

Docflow builds AI agents that run the back office for specialty healthcare providers — the organizations that get equipment, supplies, and ongoing care to patients outside the hospital. The work that buries these teams is not clinical. It is document intake, prior authorizations, order entry, eligibility and benefits checks, and endless hours inside payer portals. A single patient order can mean a faxed referral to read and classify, a prior authorization to submit to one of a dozen portals, a follow-up a week later to find out whether it was approved, and a stack of updates typed back into the provider's system of record. Multiply that by thousands of orders a month and you have entire departments doing work no one went into healthcare to do. Our agents do that work. They log into the same systems a person would — the provider's system of record and dozens of payer and utilization-management portals — read the documents, fill the forms, and write the results back. Every action is recorded: a screenshot and a full session trace for every step, so a provider's team can audit exactly what was done on every order. When an agent hits something it should not decide alone, it stops and asks a human instead of guessing. We are HIPAA compliant and handle PHI for every customer we serve. Customers start with a paid pilot on a single workflow, see real orders getting processed within weeks, and expand from there. Most of our growth comes from customers handing us their next workflow. We are a small founding team based in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. We are revenue-funded, our recurring revenue quadrupled over the last five months, and our pipeline is bigger than we can currently work.

Why Work With Us

We are revenue-funded and small enough that your work is visible the day you do it. Recurring revenue quadrupled in five months and our pipeline is bigger than we can work. You'll work directly with the founders, own a function outright rather than a slice of one, and watch AI do real work in a corner of healthcare nobody has automated yet.
