Cold Storage Lift Truck Operator
Grade 5
Training requirements: On the job training
Purpose : Responsible for Cold Storage related forklift operations
Training requirements: When selected to work in this area a senior lift truck driver in cold storage that currently performs the job will train the individual. The training will last as long as it takes for the new employee to become adapted to the duties in that area. The current Lift Truck Driver - Cold Storage and Supervisor are responsible to estimate when this training has become complete, and the new employee can perform all tasks that are assigned.
Safety requirements :
• If you are uncertain of the hazards of any piece of equipment related to this job, see your supervisor immediately before use.
• All employees are responsible for observing GMP's and working in a safe manner.
• Watch out for pedestrian and other forklift traffic.
• Use the safety cage as required.
• Complete operator pre-check sheet daily.
• Required to wear PPE's (shield and apron for changing batteries).
Job responsibilities :
• Pick up and store pallets coming from production.
• To break other operators for scheduled breaks or as required.
• Maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness in their assigned area.
• Follow GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Advise supervision of any safety issues including misuse of lift trucks, within their work environment.
• Load trailers at shipping on sanitation days.
• Actively look for ways to improve safety.
• Actively look for ways to improve overall Cold Storage operation.
• Work with WMS.
• All other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.
Daily duties:
• Responsible for driving the lift and store pallets coming from production.
• Report any damage or spills to Supervision immediately.
• Completed HACCP documents.
• Responsible for the prevention of product and equipment damage.
NOTE: This description constitutes the minimum requirements for the Cold Storage Forklift Operator Position. Other duties may be assigned at Management's discretion.

Compensation Package : $22.68-$24.79 CAD hourly
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
