About the role.
The Scrum Master will work with business stakeholders to Build IT Capabilities by Implementing SCRUM, KANBAN, and Distributed Agile concepts where applicable. You will be responsible for guiding and coaching Agile development teams to follow the Scrum framework effectively. You will facilitate the team's progress by fostering a collaborative and self-organizing environment, removing impediments, and promoting continuous improvement. Your primary focus will be on supporting the team in delivering high-quality products in a timely manner while ensuring adherence to Agile principles and values. Responsible for implementing DevOps, training/mentoring/coaching the team in agile Principle / Practices and helping the team in continual improvement with respect to agile implementation. Through coaching, develop agile change agents and support road map implementations for product owners.
What you'll be doing.
- Facilitate Scrum Events: Organize and lead all Scrum events, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. Ensure these events are productive, time-boxed, and that team members actively participate and engage in discussions.
- Team Support: Serve as a mentor and coach to the Agile development team members, assisting them in self-organization and cross-functionality. Help team members understand and follow Agile practices and principles.
- Remove Impediments: Identify and address any impediments or roadblocks that hinder the team's progress. Work closely with stakeholders and other teams to resolve issues and create a conducive environment for the team to achieve its goals.
- Promote Collaboration: Encourage open communication and collaboration within the team and across departments. Foster a culture of trust and transparency, ensuring that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Shield the Team: Protect the team from distractions and external interference during the Sprint, allowing them to focus on their commitments and tasks.
- Agile Process Improvement: Continuously improve the team's processes and practices. Identify areas for enhancement and work with the team to implement changes that lead to increased efficiency and productivity. Analyze retro and share lessons learned and best practices across programs/projects.
- Metrics and Reporting: Maintain and provide visibility into the team's progress using appropriate Agile metrics and tools. (i.e. Work visualization through KANBAN) Generate relevant reports and present them to stakeholders as required.
- Scrum Framework Adherence: Ensure that the team follows Scrum principles and values, as well as any other Agile methodologies that may be in use. Keep the team aligned with best practices and industry standards.
- Agile Culture Promotion: Actively contribute to promoting an Agile culture within the organization. Facilitate Agile training sessions and workshops to enhance the understanding and adoption of Agile practices. Mentoring Scrum Masters to organize ceremonies between Portfolio, Product and Delivery teams. Conducting coaching session.
- Remain informed about industry trends and best practices concerning agile methodologies and advances those best practices in the organization

- Project Management: strong project management skills
- Change Management: ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communication platforms to ensure success of projects
- Facilitations Skills: Ability to manage conflict, consensus-building, a good understanding of diversity and cultural differences, manage teams' time effectively, and have an effective technique of questioning.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to work with all levels within the organization including SLT
What you'll need to be successful.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile software development environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- A minimum of 3 years of Experience using Agile framework(s): Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, Lean, Test-Driven Development, or equivalent
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certifications are preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leveraging developed business acumen to drive impactful outcomes and deliver measurable results as a Scrum Master.
- Knowledge and experience for project management methodology, IT systems, and business processes would be an asset.
- Position requires well developed inter-personal skills to successfully work in a dynamic team environment with IT resources at all levels of the organization.
- Accountability - this position is responsible and accountable for completing assigned work packages or tasks on time and on budget.
- Active Listening - understanding needs of business users/customers and working with functional groups.
- Negotiation Skills - requires strong decision making and negotiation skills to influence and persuade in their working relationships.
- Formal Presentations - required to present information to IT staff at all levels and business users/customers.
- Tact and diplomacy - ensure professionalism when dealing with internal customers and outside vendors.
- Assertiveness - keeping the project on track and ensures resources are available when needed.

Compensation Package : $85,500.00 - $114,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
