About the role.
The Compensation Specialist supports the delivery of compensation programs, maintains compensation and incentive databases and systems, conducts market research and analysis, and provides compensation support to Compensation COE and HR Business Partners for the region.
What you'll be doing.
- Complete and submit all salary surveys, which include participation in third party and adhoc surveys, to ensure McCain programs are equitable, competitive and aligned to our business objectives
- Manage job evaluations, ad-hoc salary adjustments and base pay structures. This includes the research internal comparable and external market data to evaluate management, professional, technical and administrative jobs at McCain
- Summarize research findings and based on grading and pay guidelines, recommend grade to management for review and approval
- Assists in the management of other compensation program as per the agreed processes. i.e. STIP / LTI pay process
- Manage (along with the COE Compensation team) the ad-hoc payments and annual pay increases (Non-Variable Pay) processes. Focus on ensuring the changes are properly completed in the HRIS database
- Support the planning and execution of the annual compensation cycle for client group, including communication, validation and distribution of data, and support to HR Business Partners
- As point of escalation, work with the Rewards Subject Matter Expert (SME) by responding to queries and issues raised through HR Shared Services
- Diagnose and resolve system and process issues where necessary, recommend procedural modifications to aid in employee self-service and Tier 1 HR Shared Services
What you'll need to be successful.
- 2+ years in a compensation role or analytics role with good knowledge of compensation practices and principles to positively impact employee performance and business results Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with employees and external contacts at all levels, demonstrating strong influencing and negotiating skills. Must be capable of working with senior managers and working constructively with diverse personalities
- Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive personnel information
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks without close supervision
- Ability to apply HR knowledge / experience across HR policies, programs, processes and functions
- Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of HR systems is beneficial, particularly SAP and SuccessFactors

Compensation Package : $65,500.00 - $87,400.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
