Job Summary
The Financial Strategy Team is responsible for working with its partners to help educate and drive profitable decisions for the business as well as providing monthly forecasts and annual budgets. The Financial Strategy Manager may lead and develop a team responsible for financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting or may be an independent contributor leading various efforts and owning significant business relationships. They own and oversee the creation of analyses, models, and forecasts for private label and co-brand credit card portfolios to support internal partners and leadership. They also own and lead the development of client contract deal structures, promotional pricing, file performance tracking, file automation and maintenance, and ad hoc projects as needed. The Financial Strategy Manager prepares and presents complex financial information to all areas of Bread Financial. They do this through a disciplined data-driven approach and a thorough understanding of portfolio profitability while being able to effectively present analyses to all levels of management and effectively communicate and represent the team.
Essential Job Functions

Review and evaluate: Manages the analysis and monthly forecasting of financial performance elements based on information obtained via SQL, Essbase, MicroStrategy, etc., and publishes reporting/findings as needed. Leads variance reporting comparing actual performance to expected performance. Owns and leads ad hoc assignments as needed, including interdepartmental projects and analyses. Understands file harmonics and demonstrates ownership of financial models and outputs, including, but not limited to, pricing models and monthly forecast models. Presents findings and work to all levels of management and influences outcomes and decisions. Reviews work of analysts and provides constructive feedback. Utilizes knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work.

Create and design: Identifies opportunities based on portfolio trends and excels in thought leadership. Drives strategic internal discussions with senior leaders and actively participates in brand partner discussions and presentations as needed. Identifies objectives and success metrics, proactively solves problems and removes barriers, and makes strategic recommendations based on portfolio trends, market research, contracts, and client relationship dynamics. Able to maintain organization in order to multitask and prioritize projects while adhering to deadlines both for self and team. Examples of duties may be, but are not limited to, owning the creation of Client Performance Reports, reviewing client P&Ls, monthly forecasting and budgeting, reviewing and analyzing marketing campaigns, reviewing client performance and driving recommendations to improve profitability, etc. Able to assist, train, and lead other analysts regarding key job duties while demonstrating business perspective. Proficiently identifies and solves problems and ensures work is management ready.

Reporting: Owns the creating and updating of ad hoc reporting based on business needs. Maintains key reports used to analyze and forecast credit portfolios. Leads the development and distribution of key financial reporting for internal partners. Strongly attentive to detail and quality of information. Able to review other’s work for content and accuracy and coach as needed. Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work. Leverages data sources such as Essbase, SQL, and Microstrategy to build reports and train other associates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Typical Starting Range:
$108,300.00 - $196,300.00
Full Salary Range for position:
California: $124,600.00 - $245,400.00Colorado: $108,300.00 - $206,100.00New York: $119,200.00 - $245,400.00Washington: $113,700.00 - $225,700.00Maryland: $113,700.00 - $206,100.00Washington DC: $124,600.00 - $225,700.00
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
