Role OverviewThe Financial Statements Reporting Expert (Statutory) is responsible for statutory financial reporting, including year-end close, trial balance oversight, financial statement preparation, audit coordination, and regulatory reporting in compliance with local legislative requirements. This role also supports quarterly SOX control activities through business analysis and may contribute to ad hoc internal reporting needs.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting and reporting expertise, along with solid project leadership capabilities. The Expert, Statutory Reporting, oversees compliance-related obligations for a jurisdiction or region and may provide guidance to a small team of senior analysts.
Key Responsibilities- Statutory Reporting: Lead and serve as a subject matter expert in the preparation and review of statutory reports for Greif’s international entities across one or more jurisdictions.
- Compliance Reporting: Manage quarterly and year-end statutory compliance obligations, including statutory, tax, and government reporting requirements for assigned jurisdictions.
- Controls and Compliance: Monitor and review SOX controls related to entity-level activities within the responsible jurisdictions. Partner with enabling functions and business operations to design, strengthen, and implement internal controls and process improvements.
- Audit Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure efficient statutory audits and delivery against target KPIs.
- Process Management and Knowledge Sharing: Promote knowledge sharing by providing insights, training, and subject matter expertise. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration within the accounting team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or local equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in financial reporting, statutory reporting, or related accounting roles.
- Prior project leadership experience required; people management experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in statutory and compliance reporting for relevant jurisdictions.
- Strong technical expertise in statutory accounting and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proven experience working across multiple locations; shared services center (SSC) experience is an advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, multi-country environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and geographies.
- Experience in financial transformation and process improvement initiatives is an advantage.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Compensation Range:
The pay range for this position is Ft14,254,900.00 - Ft24,233,300.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between18,000,000.00 to22,200,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.Benefits Statement:
