About Company – Our client is one of the leading insurance firms in Nigeria with location across different states in Nigeria. They provide life insurance business and non-life Insurance business services to Organization and Private individuals.
The Company is seeking to hire a Financial Reporting Officer who will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in the preparation and analysis of financial statements. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, preparing statutory reports, and ensuring that all financial reporting is conducted legally and ethically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate financial statements and documents covering accounting transactions for management and regulatory review.
- Ensuring that financial records are maintained in strict accordance with IFRS and standard accounting practices.
- Monitoring budget performance and providing detailed variance analysis for expenditure control.
- Overseeing the reconciliation of accounts to ensure data integrity in all financial reports.
- Mediating tax refunds and ensuring transparency in the allocation for valid claims.
- Following up on outstanding refunds, false claims, and unclaimed refunds to ensure accurate balance sheet reporting.
- Providing auditors with all records, documents, and files about VAT returns, VAT settlements, and transactional data.
- Working closely with other departments to gather data for comprehensive business reporting.
- Preparing various monthly reports to analyze business financial health, including sales reports, profit and loss statements, general ledger entries, goods received notes, and goods issued notes.
Requirements
- Good First Degree in any relevant field.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Minimum of 2 years’ Cognate experience as a Financial Reporting Officer or similar role.
- Good business writing and communication skills.
- Excellent team management skills.
- Strong attention to details.
- Willingness to learn on the job.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and pay attention to details.
Benefits
