Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
Finance Intern

What You'll Do
Cox Automotive is investing heavily in technology to bring our marketplace strategy to life - connecting our physical auctions and digital channels into one seamless experience for clients. Deciding how much to spend is the easy half. Knowing whether that spend is paying off is the hard half. That's your project. Here's more on what that'll look like:

• Learning our marketplace strategy and the major technology investments that support it.

• Connecting the dots between each investment and the part of the strategy it supports, so leaders can see where the money is going and why.

• Building a simple, repeatable framework to evaluate those investments - financial impact where we can measure it, and other forms of value like efficiency, speed or a better client experience where we can't.

• Analyzing raw data and then repackaging, simplifying and determining key takeaways from the results.

• Testing your framework against real investments to see what it tells us.

• Assisting with the development of presentations for an executive-level audience.

Who You Are
You're curious, comfortable with a question that doesn't have an obvious answer, and you like explaining complicated things in plain language. We care more about how you think than what you already know. You also:

• Are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics or a related field.

• Are comfortable in Excel and curious about working with data - you don't need to be an expert.

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and you feel comfortable speaking honestly to all levels of the business.

• Have solid analytical and research abilities.

• Are currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

USD 22.02 - 33.08 per hour
Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $22.02 - $33.08/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
