Job Description:

The Financial Operations Senior Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting the organization's economic health. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and working collaboratively with various departments.

The Financial Operations Senior Analyst's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Premium Collection Management:

  • Manage the collection of premiums for issued policies.
  • Maintain communication with brokers and insured parties to ensure timely premium payments.
  • Perform accounting reconciliations related to premium collections.

Broker Account Management:

  • Keep current accounts with brokers (commission agents) up to date.
  • Reconcile broker accounts and ensure accurate commission payments.
  • Address any discrepancies or issues with broker accounts promptly.

Coinsurance Management:

  • Oversee the process of accepted coinsurance, ensuring all agreements are properly documented and accounted for.
  • Manage the remittance process for ceded coinsurance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain detailed records of all coinsurance transactions.

Ceded Reinsurance Accounts:

  • Manage ceded reinsurance accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Liaise with reinsurance partners to address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Prepare regular reports on reinsurance activities for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or great in accounting, finance, or related.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, premium collections, ceded reinsurance accounts, etc.
  • 5+ years of working experience in the Insurance industry.
  • English language intermediate or advanced (plus)
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database tools.
  • Experience with corporate governance and control management, including processes and systems.
  • Experience with a wide variety of assignments around operational workflow including systems is an asset.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication with the ability to concisely provide executive summaries to senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving analytical skills, with an ability to drive data analytics and make appropriate conclusions on results.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines across various stakeholders to meet targets and deliverable dates.
  • Team oriented and ability to work effectively with peers.
  • Demonstrated bias for action with a high sense of urgency, strong work ethic, and drive for results.
