Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Crime professional to join our Compliance Quality Assurance (CQA) team. This role is responsible for conducting independent quality assurance reviews and compliance monitoring activities across Financial Crime processes to assess adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and standards.

The successful candidate will provide effective challenge and oversight of the control environment, assess compliance with Financial Crime regulatory obligations, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the continuous enhancement of the Compliance Quality Assurance framework. The role requires strong Financial Crime expertise, sound judgement, analytical skills, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across Compliance, Operations, Risk, and Business teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent quality assurance reviews and compliance testing across Financial Crime activities.
  • Assess adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of controls supporting Financial Crime compliance obligations.
  • Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, regulatory compliance risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Perform thematic reviews, trend analysis, and root cause assessments.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Track and validate remediation activities resulting from quality assurance reviews.
  • Support governance and reporting activities through meaningful management information and analysis.
  • Partner with Compliance, Operations, Risk, and Business stakeholders to strengthen regulatory compliance and the overall control environment.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of compliance quality assurance methodologies, testing approaches, and monitoring frameworks.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience in Financial Crime Compliance (AML, KYC, Sanctions, Customer Due Diligence, Enhanced Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring, or related disciplines), Compliance Monitoring, Quality Assurance, Risk, or Internal Audit.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Crime regulations, customer due diligence requirements, sanctions obligations, and KYC refresh processes.
  • Experience performing quality assurance reviews, control testing, compliance monitoring, or assurance activities.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and build effective working relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.

Desired Qualifications

  • ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Experience working within a large financial institution.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory expectations and translating them into practical control assessments.

Location expectations  
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
