The PositionJob Profile:
Role Summary:
The Finance & Operations Coordinator will play a central role in ensuring the financial and operational efficiency of Roche Kazakhstan. This role acts as a bridge between local operations and the Roche Shared Services Centre in Budapest, ensuring accurate financial posting, compliance with tax regulations, and procurement coordination. The position also supports local product teams by providing financial insights and modeling to drive data-based decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Coordination with Shared Services Centre (SSC):
- Act as the primary liaison between Roche Kazakhstan and the SSC in Budapest for all accounting-related matters.
- Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of financial postings, including journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications.
- Review and validate financial reports and statements to ensure they align with local and corporate accounting standards.
- Coordinate with local agency and ensure compliance with Kazakhstan’s local tax regulations (VAT, CIT, WHT, etc.)
- Coordinate with SSC and external tax advisors for tax filings and audits.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by providing local context, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing required financial data and explanations during audit cycles.
2. Business Partnering & Financial Insights:
- Work closely with product team - medical and commercial teams to provide financial support for key business initiatives and decision-making.
- Build and maintain financial models for product performance, pricing scenarios and new launch planning.
- Deliver timely, relevant, and actionable insights on revenue, cost structure, profitability, and financial risks/opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of business cases, budget planning, and forecasting processes.
- Translate complex financial data into business language for non-finance stakeholders, helping them make informed strategic and operational decisions.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Serve as a cross-functional facilitator to improve coordination between finance, procurement, and commercial teams.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate finance and procurement processes at the local level.
- Promote compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and ethical procurement practices.
- Provide training or guidance to colleagues on basic finance principles as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Recognition and International Certificates (Chamber of Professional Accountants, ACCA, CIPA, CPA, DipIFR, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in finance operations, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and use of tools like Excel, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Fluency in English and Russian (Kazakh is a plus).
