Great American’s Fidelity/ Crime Division is a market-leading specialty insurance writer. With deep underwriting and claims expertise, the division delivers customized specialty insurance coverage solutions to a diverse portfolio of public and private companies, financial institutions, and governmental entities. In addition to Crime coverage, the division specializes in Kidnap and Ransom (K&R) and Fine Art coverage.

Fidelity / Crime Insurance - Great American Insurance Group

The Fidelity/Crime Division is hiring for a Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Analyst to join their team! Great American’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on‑site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Completes financial, business, and operational analyses to support divisional strategy, planning, and decision-making.

  • Supports the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans for the Fidelity & Crime Division.

  • Performs quarterly forecasting by analyzing actual results, trends and business drivers.

  • Prepares monthly and quarterly management reporting, including financial performance, premium, losses, expenses, profitability, and key performance indicators.

  • Performs variance analysis and develops clear explanations of financial results and business trends for divisional management.

  • Analyzes premium, loss, expense, profitability, and portfolio data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas requiring management attention.

  • Develops and maintains financial reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical models used to monitor business performance and KPIs.

  • Partners with Underwriting, Claims and Senior Management to understand business results, support planning, and identify opportunities for improved financial performance.

  • Provides recurring and ad hoc financial and operational analyses to support management decisions and strategic initiatives.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting methodologies, automation, data quality, and controls.

  • Helps develop and implement reporting solutions that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility of financial information.

  • Communicates financial results, analysis, and recommendations clearly to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

  • Generally, 10 or more years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or a related analytical role.

  • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, management reporting, variance analysis, and business performance analysis. 

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use data to analyze situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and the ability to analyze premium, losses, expenses, and profitability.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.

  • Experience with Tableau, Cognos, Adaptive, or other reporting and financial planning tools preferred.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with business partners and senior management.

Salary Range:

$125,000.00 -$160,000.00
