About the job
We are looking for a Financial Accountant with a solid experience within the Purchase to Pay Process that initially will be focusing on the implementation of a new Invoice Management System. As a vital team member in the project, you will work together with the project team to secure efficient processes and compliant workflows in close cooperation with the business to contribute to a good implementation.
There after the role will transform into a role within the Accounting and Reporting team where you’ll work independently and take ownership of key accounting areas. You will have a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of these accounting areas and their connected financial processes. You will work closely with the Accounting and Reporting Team to support ongoing improvements and to ensure that our financial operations run efficiently and compliant.
Main tasks and responsibilities will be.
Initially responsibilities
You will have a key role in the project team to secure an efficient implementation of the new Invoice Management System. You will work close with the global project team for Alfa Laval, the Finance department and organisations of Alfa Laval Technologies AB. Main responsibilities will be
- Secure compliant processes and workflows from Swedish Accounting Rules and internal control
- Participate in project task relating to assess, test and evaluate processes and accounting tasks.
- Drive the coordination and communication with involved stakeholders
- Provide support to the business of the local entity during the project
Long term responsibilities
Your independent key tasks will be covering the responsibility for a few specific accounting and financial areas that will change over time as you grow within the Accounting and Reporting team:
Example of areas could be Provisions, Financial Leasing, Tax related reporting and Transfer pricing.
Within the assigned accounting and financial areas, the responsibilities will be:
- Take responsibility and lead activities related to specific accounting and financial areas to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Analyse and secure high quality of monthly group reporting
- Lead and ensure accurate forecasting activities
- Be a partner providing support and insights for local controllers
- Drive process improvements and strengthening the internal control within the accounting areas
- Contribute to the change process Finance Transformation that is a part of Alfa Lavals strategy in Finance
- Support a few central support organisations with controlling or accounting services
This role will be placed in Lund, Alfa Laval Technologies AB. Travelling might be needed from time to time to Swedish sites but not on a regular basis.

To succeed in this role, you have a solid experience within the Purchase to Pay Process. You know how to play in a team but also working independently, you are open to changes, and you embrace them. You master the ability to quickly understand the core of a problem and focus on the most important aspects. You enjoy analysing and finding solutions to improve or solve processes and can explain these further.
As a person you are accurate, driven, target orientated and unpretentious. You remain confident in situations with unknown elements, and you can challenge yourself and others in a positive manner.
What you know
Academic background in accounting at university level is required. It’s a pre-requisite to hold 5 years of working experience as a financial accountant with strong knowledge of Swedish accounting rules. You have good working knowledge of both the Purchase to Pay Process and the Invoice Management System Medius. Work experience of accounting in industrial companies or work experience as auditor is a merit.
You are an advanced user in Excel and have experience with different ERP systems. Experience from D365 is a merit. You can communicate and explain accounting well. And finally, you’re fluent in both English and Swedish.
