Reporting to the Senior Inventory Manager, the Financial Accountant (FA) s responsible for day-to-day month-end,
quarter-end, and year-end closing for the GovPlanet entity business. Working closely with the Operational and
Corporate Finance Teams, the FA is a key contributor to the day-to-day, weekly, month-end close process,
preparing journal entries, working papers, and other tasks. In addition to these core deliverables, the FA will
support key initiatives, including enhancing business processes, new systems implementation and the optimization
of the close process.
- • Responsible for weekly, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks for GovPlanet business entity managing
Disposition Logistics Agency (DLA) Purchase Inventory Contracts. - Record COGS inventory weekly.
- Reviews new inventory issued on weekly basis.
- Review and process inventory write off/on adjustments weekly.
- Prepare various journal entries throughout the month.
- Reconcile on monthly basis inventory billed.
- Record new inventory and credits issued by vendor monthly.
- Reconcile Discrepancies: Address inventory discrepancies and promptly resolve any issues
- Complete monthly account reconciliations.
- Prepare inventory Cycle Count SOX controls on quarterly basis.
- Prepare monthly inventory provisions during closing.
- Communicate with external stakeholders as needed for inventory/billing inquries.
- Complete SOX control requirements ensuring full SOX compliance, including but not limited to IPEs and WPs.
- Ensuring adherence to Corporate Accounting Policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA a plus
- Three to five years of relevant experience in inventory accounting.
- Proven experience in inventory management and accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software and inventory management systems such as Oracle, NetSuite.
- Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Good Interpersonal skills, organizational abilities.
- Excellent Communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical mindset
