Job Description:
The Finance Manager – Overheads position will play a key role in both business partnering critical Overheads functions while also serving as the lead for ensuring strong governance over period-close processes. The role will support our ongoing initiative in being a strong and trusted finance business partner in deploying budgets and navigating and identifying unique cost-savings opportunities with functional SVPs and P&O business partners. From an Overheads accounting standpoint, this role will partner with various MGS and Global stakeholders in governing proper controls on cross-charges l and personnel movements.
The ideal candidate is someone that thrives in having standalone responsibility and ownership of their business area while also having a strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP). In addition, the candidate will possess analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively communicate to business partners and stakeholders.
Success in this role requires a strong ability to manage and drive financial governance while maintaining a strategic business partnership role, balancing operational detail with big-picture thinking. You will need proficiency in providing financial insights and strategic advice that influence key decisions and align financial resources with business priorities. A solid understanding of overhead functions and cost control measures within a multinational FMCG environment is essential, as is the ability to take ownership and lead cross-functional financial projects, balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial for navigating and communicating across various levels of the organization, especially when working with senior leadership teams. Finally, a proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate issues, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvements in finance processes and controls, will be key to your success.
What are we looking for?
- University degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
- Minimum 5 years in a similar position for a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) multinational company.
- Strong sense of business, approachability, organization agility and ROI mindset are the main features required for this position
- SAP experience or equivalent ERP system
- Mars operational experience is a plus
- Power BI/ Tableau is a plus
- MBA or CPA is a plus
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Lead various Overheads functions such as R&D, Legal, Finance in preparation of forecasts, deployment of budgets, annual plans, including annual planned objectives and long-term financial shaping strategies
- Manage annual Overhead resource allocation details and assumptions, ensuring targets are met or exceeded, communicate and gain alignment with stakeholders
- Perform period-end close responsibilities including review and oversight of journal entries and related balance sheet account reconciliations in addition to results analysis and providing critical insights to financial business partners
- Period reporting functional and enterprise level overhead spending utilizing Overhead Reporting Tool and providing key insights. Partnering with stakeholder to identify risk and opportunities throughout the process.
- Support Finance team in other areas, including special projects and requests, perform ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Contribute to and support an effective, highly competent and engaged Finance team.
