Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly/quarterly US GAAP reporting
- Oversee statutory filings and local audits across French Speaking Africa, partnering with External Auditors, contractors and the GEHC Center of Excellence (“COE”) teams
- Perform Balance Sheet analysis and ensure account integrity and effectiveness of business processes
- Ensure compliance with local laws, government regulations, filing requirements and GEHC policies
- Drive consistent and effective application of GEHC GAP, policies and close-related procedures including account reconciliations audits, GEHC Data Request (DR) submissions, representation letters and adjusting entries during monthly/quarterly close
- Lead implementation of consistent policies and procedures for monthly and quarterly close activities, including account reconciliations, audits, GEHC Data Request submissions, representation letters, and adjusting entries
- Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts, collaborating with COE teams to resolve unreconciled items promptly
- Monitor and address process defects and/or inefficiencies within internal and external COEs to support accurate and timely financial reporting
Internal Controls & Governance
- Ensure robust internal controls aligned with US GAAP, GEHC GAP, and local regulations
- Oversee Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and SOCCS compliance
- Manage legal entity governance
- Collaborate with Treasury team to ensure compliance with capital structure (where applicable) and adequate liquidity requirements.
- Collaborate with Tax Team on CIT/VAT/WHT filings, supporting tax audits,
- Ensure tax audit readiness and archiving compliance
Simplification & Transformation
- Lead simplification, integration, and transformation initiatives across LATAM
- Drive Lean projects to reduce complexity and enhance value-added activities
- Lead and oversee special projects focused on internal controls and financial reporting, as well as initiatives supporting business growth, in collaboration with P&L and Functional Finance Leaders
Required Qualifications
- Experience in accounting or finance
- External Auditing Firm graduate
- Fluent in French and English.
- Strong controllership analytical skills – able to link financial results to operational performance drives
- Experience leading cross-functional projects / process improvement within operations / finance function
- Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
- Self-starter & a quick learner with a commitment to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to details & experience with data analytics
- Experience working in a matrixed environment
