A growing hospital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Application Analyst to support core accounting functions, enhance financial reporting, and provide advanced analytical insights. This role is critical to ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across the organization’s financial operations. The position does not include managerial authority but requires senior-level technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively within a hospital finance structure.
ResponsibilitiesOracle Fusion Financials Administration
- Maintain and govern the Chart of Accounts, including segment structures, value sets, hierarchies, and cross-validation rules.
- Configure and support subledgers such as AP, AR, GL, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and Procurement.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Fusion workflows, accounting rules, interface issues, and data integrity across modules.
- Support quarterly Oracle Cloud patch testing, regression testing, new functionality assessments, and enhancements.
Financial Reporting & Data Management
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reports using OTBI, FRS (Financial Reporting Studio), Smart View, and BI Publisher.
- Maintain reporting metadata, mappings, and validation rules across systems.
Accounting Support & Operational Partnership
- Support month-end close by preparing and validating subledger transfers, system-generated journals, reconciliation data flows, and other ad hoc closing activities.
- Partner with AP, AR, GL, and Fixed Assets teams to troubleshoot issues impacting close, payments, and asset lifecycle accounting.
- Prepare audit support, configuration documentation, and system evidence for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate across departments to improve workflows, ensure consistent data governance, and strengthen internal controls.
Support for Additional Finance Systems
- Provide functional and technical support for other financial systems used by the Accounting and Finance departments, which may include:
- Budgeting and forecasting platforms (e.g., Oracle EPM, Planful, Strata , etc.)
- Reconciliation and close management tools
- Reporting and analytics systems
- Fixed asset tracking or lease accounting systems
- Assist with integrations between Oracle Fusion and third-party finance applications.
- Liaise with vendors for issue resolution, upgrades, and enhancement requests.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced certifications in ERP or financial systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of core accounting processes (GL, AP, AR, FA, Procurement); familiarity with GAAP sufficient to support system configuration and validation.
- 3–5+ years of General Ledger accounting and / or hands-on experience supporting or administering financial systems, with a strong preference for Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Experience with Chart of Accounts maintenance, subledger configuration, workflow support, and system troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with financial reporting tools such as OTBI, Financial Reporting Studio, Smart View, and BI Publisher.
- Ability to analyze and validate complex data sets, supporting reconciliation, close processes, and system-to-system data integrity.
- Experience participating in or leading system enhancements, configuration updates, UAT testing, and quarterly cloud patch reviews.
- Familiarity with integrations between ERP systems and ancillary finance applications (e.g., budgeting tools, banking portals, reconciliation software).
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets; SQL or data querying experience a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to diagnose system issues and translate user needs into functional requirements.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with Accounting, IT, and operational teams.
