Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Role Overview
Micron's U.S. Site Procurement Operations team is seeking an experienced Capital Supplier Manager to support capital equipment, spares, and services procurement for Fab 6 in Manassas, Virginia. This role is critical to sustaining current operations and enabling the D140 ramp through strong supplier management, disciplined execution, fab readiness, and data-driven business process improvement. The role partners closely with factory, engineering, finance, planning, and supply chain stakeholders to improve delivery performance, cost, continuity of supply, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own procurement execution for assigned Fab 6 capital equipment, spares, and services scope, supporting both sustaining operations and D140 ramp requirements.
- Lead supplier alignment on equipment planning, delivery schedules, on-dock execution, ODD / RISD recovery, and overall fab readiness.
- Drive supplier performance management through Quarterly Business Reviews, scorecards, escalations, and continuous improvement actions.
- Develop and execute spares, inventory, and readiness plans that support uptime, startup readiness, and business continuity.
- Lead or support supplier negotiations, service contract strategy, warranty / commercial alignment, and contract administration in partnership with category teams and stakeholders.
- Operate within Micron's capital procurement business processes, including CALM / Acquire workflows, purchase order creation, PO validation and release, PO changes, and invoice reconciliation / approval.
- Track and communicate key metrics, risks, gaps, and recovery actions using dashboards, trackers, and leadership-ready summaries.
- Drive digital procurement improvements through analytics, automation, and AI-enabled workflows that improve visibility, reduce manual work, and increase execution speed.
- Ensure compliance with Micron procurement policy, approval controls, transparency requirements, and segregation-of-duties expectations.
- Build strong internal stakeholder partnerships across Fab, Engineering, Finance, Planning, Logistics, and Procurement counterparts to resolve issues quickly and drive one-voice execution with suppliers.
- Own supplier strategy, governance, and readiness across a broader supplier portfolio, including cross-site standardization and accelerated ramp / HVM transitions.
- Lead cross-site best-known-method sharing, readiness frameworks, and supplier accountability mechanisms that reduce risk and improve execution consistency across U.S. sites.
- Serve as a senior individual contributor who creates leverage through influence, supplier governance, and value creation-not transactional ownership alone.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field.
- Strong experience in capital procurement, supplier management, manufacturing / semiconductor operations, or related industrial environments.
- Experience managing supplier delivery, schedule recovery, escalations, and commercial discussions in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience in QBRs, supplier scorecards, service contracts, or similar supplier performance management processes.
- Strong analytical capability, including Excel, PowerPoint, ERP-based procurement workflows, and data-based decision support.
- Ability to work across ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and drive clear actions and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting fab operations, tool install, startup readiness, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Within Micron network experience preferred
- Experience with CALM / capital PO workflows, PO changes, invoice approvals, or capital execution processes.
- Experience leveraging automation, AI, dashboards, or digital tools to improve procurement productivity and visibility.
- For P4: demonstrated strength in supplier strategy, governance, readiness leadership, and cross-functional influence.
