About The Job
As our new Project Controller, you will act as a vital link between project management, commercial teams, and business unit leadership. You will own the financial dimension of our project portfolio, support strategic decision-making and ensure healthy project execution from order to final delivery.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Project Financial Follow-up: Provide robust financial support and challenge to Project Managers on budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and timeline updates
Work in Progress (WIP) & Accounting: Ensure accurate and compliant recording of accounting transactions, revenue recognition, and job costing within WIP.
IT interaction: Engage in local activities within central IT tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Medius, Solver, BI tools)
Business Partnering: Advise the Business Unit management team on financial implications, risks, and commercial opportunities related to ongoing and upcoming projects.
Business analysis: Provide monthly S&A analysis for BU management, including Workshop.
Performance Management: Track relevant financial KPIs, perform variance analyses (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast), and prepare monthly and quarterly reporting & business reviews.
Process & Digitalization: Drive continuous improvement of financial reporting tools, leveraging ERP systems and Business Intelligence (Power BI) to streamline workflows.
At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is based at our Søborg office in Copenhagen, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 5 - 10 days per year.
What you know
A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar.
Solid knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and internal control frameworks.
Understanding of business processes in a global company and know how to structure local compliance based on global standards (e.g. segregation of duties, internal controls, risk assessments).
Strong command of Excel, ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar), and BI tools like Power BI.
Proactive, analytical, and structured with high attention to detail and strong integrity.
Fluent in English with strong interpersonal skills to build trust and influence decision-making across global matrix teams.
