The position is accountable for service quality, period-end close activities, team development, and stakeholder satisfaction while driving the harmonization, standardization, and automation of expense accounting processes across regions.
Working closely with Finance teams, local CFOs, Cost Controlling, Procurement, Treasury and external providers, the role operates in a global environment requiring regular collaboration across EMEA, US, and APAC time zones.
The position follows a hybrid working model, requires a visible presence within the Bucharest organization, and may involve occasional travel to supported locations. Flexibility in working hours may also be required during critical month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing periods.

- Organize and support the further development of the Expenses Accounting team
- Collaborate closely with the two Team Leads responsible for the EMEA and APAC/US perimeters, ensuring alignment of priorities, workload, and service delivery.
- Manage Expenses Accounting activities for the US, APAC, and selected EMEA entities, in coordination with Procurement, Reporting & Closing, Cost Control, Expenses Performance and other Finance teams based in US and APAC.
- Ensure that processes, procedures, and controls are efficient, harmonized, and consistently applied across the entities within scope.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, and automation of expense accounting processes across the supported regions.
People leadership and team development:
- Lead, coach, and develop an international team, creating clarity around responsibilities, priorities, and expected results.
- Set individual and team objectives and monitor performance against agreed service and quality indicators.
- Support succession planning, knowledge transfer, and capability development across the team.

Operational activities:
- Payment-run governance, controls, timely execution, and resolution of escalated issues.
- Timely reconciliation of intercompany balances and transactions, ensuring resolution of outstanding differences in line with the closing calendar.
- Oversee and support period-end closing activities related to expense accounting, including accruals, prepayments, and related controls.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of VAT and other relevant statutory declarations in compliance with local legal requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and delegated authorities across all accounts payable activities.
Accounts Receivable:
- Ensure appropriate monitoring, collection, and escalation of overdue receivables.
- Monitor receivable balances and drive timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Oversee the assessment and monitoring of allowances for doubtful accounts.
Fixed Assets Accounting:
- Ensure appropriate governance over asset creation, capitalization, useful-life determination, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and retirements.
- Oversee the accuracy and completeness of fixed-asset accounting and depreciation processes.
- Oversee fixed-asset inventories and ensure the timely resolution of discrepancies.
Supplier and Customer Master Data Management:
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and governance of supplier and customer master data.
- Ensure account reconciliations are performed accurately and timely, with appropriate escalation of unreconciled items.
- Ensure accurate VAT accounting records and timely preparation of information required for statutory declarations.
- Maintain effective controls to ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Finance Transformation and Continuous Improvement:
- Lead and support initiatives aimed at harmonizing, standardizing, and automating expense accounting processes across regions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce manual activities, and improve service quality.
- Contribute to the evolution of the target operating model for expense accounting.
- Promote collaboration, inclusion, and knowledge sharing within a multicultural and internationally distributed organization.
Service Delivery and Stakeholder Management:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, consistent, and efficient accounting services to internal clients and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Finance teams, local CFOs, Cost Control, shared services providers, and external partners.
- Collaborate closely with other Finance leaders to drive alignment, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a client-focused culture and ensure that service delivery meets agreed expectations and service levels.
- Act as the primary escalation point for significant operational, service, or stakeholder issues.
The Expenses Accounting Manager is accountable for ensuring:
- Timely, accurate, and compliant financial closing across the supported entities.
- Compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control standards.
- Stable, efficient, and high-quality service delivery across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and related accounting processes.
- Standardization, harmonization, and automation of processes across regions to improve efficiency and reduce manual activities.
- Effective management of internal stakeholders, external providers, and cross-functional relationships.
- Development, engagement, and succession planning of a high-performing accounting team.
- Continuous improvement of operational performance, controls, and customer satisfaction.

University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
7 to 10 years of relevant experience in accounting, including demonstrated experience in leading teams or coordinating complex international accounting operations
Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, VAT, closing activities, and financial controls
Experience working across multiple entities, countries, or locations
Strong stakeholder-management and communication capabilities
Ability to manage competing priorities and tight closing deadlines
Fluency in English
