You will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders (Planning, Operations, Quality), and project management teams to monitor order progress, identify risks, and implement proactive follow-up actions that keep project milestones and production schedules on track.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Monitor and drive on-time delivery of key commodities (castings, forging, fasteners, actuators, and related parts) across multiple active projects.
  • Maintain and track expediting KPIs (open PO aging, on-time/late delivery, supplier responsiveness) and report status to project and procurement leadership.
  • Proactively identify potential supplier delays, capacity constraints, or quality issues; coordinate rapid mitigation actions (alternate sources, schedule adjustments, expediting with suppliers).
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to confirm order acknowledgments, production progress, dock dates, and shipment readiness; resolve shipment documentation and logistics questions.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Production, and Inventory teams to align material release plans with master schedules, and bill of materials.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate proactive lead-time improvements, and support supplier development initiatives to reduce risk and improve reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (quality, safety, environmental, export controls) in all procurement and expediting activities.
  • Document and maintain auditable records of expediting actions, communications, and decisions for project traceability.
Who You Are:
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Cooperative mindset with a customer-service orientation toward internal project teams and external suppliers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of effective collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and external suppliers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools, as well as basics of logistics and import/export if applicable.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret schedules, capacity plans, and material requirements planning (MRP).
  • Travel: 20–30% of work time, often tied to supplier visits, on-site assessments, or milestone audits. In some roles, it can be as low as 5% or as high as 50% during peak phases.
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or expediting within manufacturing (experience with castings, forging, fasteners, or actuators is preferred).
  • Proven track record in vendor management, lead-time reduction, and on-time delivery improvements.
  • English fluency (written and spoken);
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and handle pressure to meet critical deadlines.
